the money laundering charges could be based on the fact that picpay was set up as a holding company and it's business activities were defined legally as a bank (without a banking license), therefore, the funds were received illegally. this is very old news. we knew about it last year. if this proves to be all they could come up with against the marsdens in a years time - than our money is safe.

There's nothing worse than fair weather friends.

When things are going well they are the greatest supporters,
when things go wrong they are the first to pronounce you guilty
and the first to shout loudly as they enjoy the slaughter.

Who needs friends like that !

    Brian certainly doesn't.

If there was deliberate Fraud they would have found it, afterall,
that's what they were eagerly pursuing.

Brian may be guilty of many many things, the most serious though
seems to be mis-management and mis-placed trust.

    Hardly a hanging offence.

    Hi laurenr

I completely agree with your arguments and conclusion re. judging the man before he has been proved guilty. However, my take on it is that he has probably commited more serious misconduct than mismanagement and mis-placed trust. I guess it goes the other way around!...just read the final report from Warren, where he actually states that Bryan refused to listen to or take any advise from close colleagues or professional advisors. He kept everything to himself, even the size of assets (funds) and that no audits were carried out on PIPS.
Hm,...if that is true, and I believe Warren, then I guess that we are not talking about an innocent man!

Admin: I agree with gator. And, besides, this thread or any other has no place for personal attacks or language such as pr*ck or basta*d and the like. Let's keep it civil.

Agreed, or at least change the title! Just waded through 4 pages of idle speculation and petty bickering to find no news.

By now there should be some. Didn't any Bryan supporters go to bail him out or at least learn his fate? Please, whoever comes up with the goods, start a new thread! Thanks.

    Default Owen Platt, a question.

At the initial hearing where the charges were laid, Marsden told Sessions Court judge Akhtar Tahir: “I have lost everything. There is nothing to say at this stage.”
From this it would seem that, unless someone comes forward with the bail money, they will once more be remanded in custody. If they are unable to afford a defence lawyer, as seems likely, the court will appoint one for them.
The hearing on the 31st. relates to a separate set of charges and I think refers only to Mr. Marsden.
    Owen,

How do you have access as to what Bryan said to Judge Akhtar Tahir???? "I have lost everything. There is nothing to say at this stage."

And how do you even know what the judge's name is??????

    Were you there?????

Is this public information?..... and if it is, please, let all of us laypeople know how to get it.

Thanks in advance for your response.

What you are asking Owen about is simply public information!....simple as that. Do your research and you will know!
