When these legal entities, come in and take over everything like this with the pretense of trying to stop illegitimate frauds on unsuspecting victims,
It always amazes me that the reason they do it is to protect us but yet they tie up our funds and hold our monies.
And when, if at all, would they get around to doing the real justice of returning our funds, whether they decide Bryan is guilty or innocent.
Respectfully,
Zoe

It's 6:45 a.m. on 13 September in that part of the world right now... it seems, from my reading, that today is the day to set trial for either Bryan or Sharon, and 31 October is the day to set trial for the other.. Anyone else read it this way, or am I missing something?

Hi to all.
Firstly, tomorrow, as many of you surmise correctly, is a hearing to establish the basis for the case.
Secondly, is the evidence clear and strong enough to support a trial.
This is, of course, as it goes in the United States. If it is the same in Malaysia, I am not certain.
Let's not put the cart before the horse and look for claims, etc, etc, etc. Take one step at a time. Be thankful something is happening. This is positive for the time being.
Let's pray and hope,

Call me naive, but after all this time of investigation, and considering all the money (supposedly) involved, for "only" a charge of "money laundering" - it sure smacks of some kind of "set-up", ie deliberate injection by person/persons unknown of "dirty money" to incriminate PIPS.
Brian knew he was playing with the "big boys", but I think he underestimated to what lengths they would go to get rid of their "competition".
Hang in there, Brian - if there is a "justice" it will be done - sooner or later.
Onya mate..!

Correction,
No trial starts tomorrow, the case is already entered, or there would not have been a plea of not guilty, so this is not a hearing on whether charges are going to be filed, they have already been filed. The only thing which will be decided is if Marsden's have secured a lawyer or not, which I doubt, so then one will be assigned. The trial cannot start without this procedure. If they do have an attorney, then they may hear a reduced bail argument, but no trial will begin for months as what attorney could come up to speed if it took BN a year to present evidence of fraud. And yes, I do have legal experience, and Malaysia follows the same guidelines as most countries.
Good luck to all, Mike

The hearing today is to establish whether or not the Marsdens have been able to find the bail money and/or legal representation. Bail has already been set so charges have been brought - today's hearing not to decide this. That is a fait accompli.
At the initial hearing where the charges were laid, Marsden told Sessions Court judge Akhtar Tahir: “I have lost everything. There is nothing to say at this stage.”
From this it would seem that, unless someone comes forward with the bail money, they will once more be remanded in custody. If they are unable to afford a defence lawyer, as seems likely, the court will appoint one for them.
The hearing on the 31st. relates to a separate set of charges and I think refers only to Mr. Marsden.
