Not sure its the actual trial, the legalese in Malaysia is different then the USA,
it could be just a hearing where he pleads guilty or not guilty at which point a trial date is set.
I dont think a week is enough time to prepare a defense.

I think Malaysia is the same as British law. A hearing is when the judge decides if there is a case to answer. If he thinks there is, then he sets a date for trial. This is just the beginning and could take many years before it is over.

    Calm down, Woody,

No slam implied. It's just that Marek is a Medical Student, not a Legal student and what he "thinks" is speculation at this point. Let's all wait for information on this thread and not interject or solicit any speculation. While it may be hard to be that patient, it will help all of us not to have to weed through 50 pages of thread to find a post with some FACTS.

I know very little about law but my understanding is that they both entered not guilty pleas. Even bail was set. Sounds to me like the prelim is already over. If this is the case then tomorrow should be the beginning of the trial. Again, I'm no lawyer.
Why not get you mind off of PIP's for awhile and come listen to some great rock tunes at

Sorry guys, i am not so good with what its suppose to be called. I read trial start somewhere, and thats why i posted it. It might be a hearing to some in uk and us, and probably something else in other countries, but whatever it is, it starts tomorrow to my knowledge :-)

    sorry for my mistake.
