That's what we believe and want. That's not what the guy from Ompus says. He says " checks - starting on Monday, the 6th, then reval the 13th to 15th ( after reval)" That's what made me wonder...it did not make sense to me...
Would you say - Adster - that Ompus knows more than we do?

Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.
Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.

New Iraq oil law by end of 2006 | Iraq Updates
Baghdad, 03 November 2006 (TradeArabia)
A policy committee hammering out a draft new oil law for Iraq now has only one issue left to resolve and the legislation should be enacted by the end of the year, Deputy Prime Minister Barham Salih said.
He also saidprojections of a doubling by 2010 of Iraqi oil exports, now at 1.6 million barrels per day, and of output to 6 million bpd from 2.3 million bpd were 'conservative figures' in his view.
Salih said the committee, which he expected to meet in a couple of weeks, still had to agree on provisions governing whether development contracts with oil companies could be signed at regional or national level.
'I am hopeful we will be able to bring the group together on this matter,' Salih said

I agree SGS. I remember one of her posts where she quoted a "International Trade Expert" at her "local branch". It was some convoluted logic about the only way the dinar would ever RV. It was good for a laugh and that's about all. She has zero credibility in my opinion. But as Adster says we will see on the 13th. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. I'll settle for once with her.
Please, somebody shoot the messenger!

Adam,
Yes, I certainly agree. I cannot speak for anyone else, but I would imagine that many, like me, started following the events in Iraq more closely when we bought Dinar. Now for me and for many others I am sure, after becoming much more aware of the daily life the average Iraqi lives at present, I have come to cheer for a reval as much or more for them as for myself and my family and friends.
We have been hearing some say first quarter of 2007 off and on all along. If those of us who are in this for an investment knew for sure that it would happen then, we'd be as happy as clams.
The sad fact is that it would prolong the suffering and poverty of the Iraqi people.

In an ideal world/scenario it would make sense to reval then hand out the 10k to each person. Then open the dinar onto the world markets with an enacted FIL and oil law.
Someone elsewhere said that if it doesn't reval before the cards go out and they spend their 10k within the 3 months then we're looking at a reval after 3 months. There is a logic there I guess, if they hand out the cards, no reval, their people spend it then they reval that'll be a real kick in the teeth to their people, something they certainly don't deserve........
They're so unpredictable these Iraqi's!Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.
