New Iraq oil law by end of 2006

A policy committee hammering out a draft new oil law for Iraq now has only one issue left to resolve and the legislation should be enacted by the end of the year, Deputy Prime Minister Barham Salih said.
He also saidprojections of a doubling by 2010 of Iraqi oil exports, now at 1.6 million barrels per day, and of output to 6 million bpd from 2.3 million bpd were 'conservative figures' in his view.
Salih said the committee, which he expected to meet in a couple of weeks, still had to agree on provisions governing whether development contracts with oil companies could be signed at regional or national level.
'I am hopeful we will be able to bring the group together on this matter,' Salih said.

Here's something... maybe.

It seems the CBI changed or modified the banking laws (the PDF at least). Although i don't have a previous copy, someone said the CBI removed a paragraph regarding the Gazzette in Section 7 (Currency).

Anyone know what this might mean?

This is the reference... check out the CBI site, under banking laws. I'm told that they removed the Gazzette paragraph. Correct?

probably removed the need to publish it in the official gazette to make it official. what if they had to wait a week for someone to post it on there? lol

I smell a big reval and I bet it's before Tuesday. Sunday should be interesting.....Also...not that this means anything but did you notice that the last CBI auction was #799 wonder if #800 is the magic number???? Just a thought.

I live here in the pacific northwest. My friend talked to his branch manager of a local B of A and he did confirm that that a New York branch would be exchanging the new iraqi dinar soon. But he did not know when his branch would be participating. I checked with my local branch and they said the same thing. So an RV is most likely around the corner....

Adster do you happen to have a saved version of the CBI page they are talking about that has been revised to not include the statement about the Gazette???

He Adster. I saw this one also this morning.

It backs the rumour from Stephany at IIF.

Let's hope it is true then we are hit the jackpot within two weeks. Only time will tell.

True, the more confirmations we get the better. We know they only trade in international currencies so if this is true, this is big. 10 days to see this one out, and will it have r/v'd by then...........
