As long as the TOS are fairly and consistently enforced, I don't see the need for any other "special" solutions to the problems here. Eventually the trouble makers who do not obey the TOS will end up banned temporarily (and possibly eventually permanently) and the rest of us can get along in peace with our differences of opinion. I decided to behave better awhile back (thanks to the Dinar Gals) and removed everyone from my ignore list at the same time and it has worked well for me since...Now I can't even remember who I have had fights with in the past. The TOS are based on Common Sense and Decency and don't require a degree in rocket science to comprehend and put into practice. I know quite a few members who will gladly come back to RC especially if the profanity and abbreviations of profanity cease to be used. I know that I have a long way to go for improvement but the TOS make a lot of sense to me and seem easier and easier to comply with as I try to behave in a more civil manner as time passes for me here in the forums. Just my 2 cents.

Ok, enough with the calm, reasoned, sensible approach already; I want ears boxed and I want it now!!

You are doing your part to improve and realize the fruits of tolerance and respect of others and willing to face it for the better self you seek...GREAT resolution pursued and you and no one can change that stance...your presence is always welcome Danny so long others don't feel you stepping on their toes deliberately...

A cheerful confession heard and YOU ARE heading in the right direction mate!!!

the other side of the coin-let people post what they will. after all you make your $$ from ads and any other side deals that stem from them. if someone wants to post a rumor-let them. if they get fried for doing it-oh well-such is the price of fame. if you want to control and censor and censure people for posting their ideas-well, its your forum. for you to suggest to close down the dinar section temporarily is a ridiculous solution. your advertisers are here b/c of the dinar traffic (in part). you can lay down the law-its simple-if a poster violates the tos-then theyre banned. end of story. everyone has notice of them. you dont need to police us and admonish us. just ban. that is a better remedy then discontinuing a forum; which is why the majority of people are here. another solution is to keep the rumor section open for rumor posting only. no comments except for the rumor poster. we all know the standard responses and they really boil down to anything new? this will excise the cancer of the caustic posters and still let us read the rumors.

    Danny,

I often don't agree with things you say. But I must wholeheartedly agree with what you just said.

    Thank you,

Lglwrd, I like this suggestion. It will keep the thread clean and too the point. If the poster would like to add, change or make any type of adjustment to the rumor it will be easy to view.

    Default Perhaps. . . .

I will give this a stab. Closing the forum wont fix the problem IMHO. I keep reading that we are all adults - well we don't all act like it. Yes, the mods might have caught it sooner and stopped it but they didn't. How can we as individuals now help. . . .perhaps if we see someone being offensive, we could copy their post in a PM to one of the mods and let them handle it. Afterall, they can't be everywhere. We can all become responsible for each other. We can also not respond to the offensive post which whould be adding fuel to the fire. We have been told over and over, don't go to the rumor section if you don't like rumors and leave those alone who do. There are no truths to rumors until the rumor comes true. We all are entitled to have an opinion but not to say ours is better than someones elses.
We are ALL guests on this forum at the behest of Marek. I was taught that when you went to play ball at someone elses field you played by their rules. This is his forum, his rules. We should all respect and abide by them. He is within his rights to remove anyone who breaks the rules and we expect him to apply the rules even handedly. The same goes for the mods in the application of the rules. None of us are perfect and mistakes have been made by members and mods. Marek has worked hard to clean up the forum, ridding it of those who were blatant in their behavior. Every large group has small groups within it made up of those who think similarly. There is nothing wrong with having those groups - just don't throw you weight around and start "a war of words and ugliness".
Ok, I guess that is it. Let's all play by the rules of this forum.
