MAREK. "YOU KICKED THE WHOLE FORUMS BUTT" Please dont mind this. Each time i have seen you do anything on the forum, the result mostly is very professional. I have Seen Marek in action and can only say, that he probably is one of very few of us that know to what extent he has to go to get the results he seek. Being a medical student marek, i think you dont know the word defeat. Anyway, you seem to be the biggest MOB around here right now LOL. So i will just crawl back to the hole i poped out of. Keep the good work going. This forum needs it. Those that dont want changes here, are afraid of losing their authority around here.. So bee it.. Cheers... and good luck straightening this forum up. It's time to stop "reacting and taking things personally". Let's please, please stop this and just enforce RC TOS. There was nothing wrong with the rules when they were made - so please just enforce them and let's get on with it. We don't need someone to monitor a rumor before it's posted - but we do need someone to monitor others responses to the rumor and make sure they all abide by RC TOS. None of us are qualified to determine if a rumor is worth posting. JMHO

How's this:
Open a new Rumor Thread. Or for every threads. This time only rumors will be allowed. NO Comments what so ever. If you have something to say use your PM. And if comments has to be posted, Let the Admin know before posting. If you attack somebody, you'll be banned right away. And if you like it, just press Thank You button. NO Comments!
Or maybe create a "Thanks" button and "No Thanks" button. If you like it, press "Thanks", if you don't like it press "No Thanks" button. Or lets use the Smilies button or

i dont remeber who posted it . But i like the idea of having the rumor section set to where no discussion is allowed. You have a rumor you can post your rumor.
there are no follow up questions, if you have a question take it to PM, there is no arguements, again if you have a problem take it to PM. Maybe a limit can be posted to how many post you can post in the rumor section after that say you have a rumor that runs for a weekend in theory you cant post anything else in the rumor section. Until the rumors run its course. It prevents discussion on the rumor in question which in turn cuts down on building of hopes and dreams which cuts down on the arguements and the taking of sides. If theres no further discussion allowed in the thread then you prevent the name calling and other actions that happen when a rumor doesnt pan out. I mean we're all adults right?
I feel that part of the problem is when something gets said or taken out of context that was posted for all to see it by nature puts people on the defensive. which in turn starts an arguement and it just goes down hill from there.

Respect is what in my opinion is lacking in this forum by some members. I know it will be unpopular, but admin. & mods must regain respect, by enforcing rules fairly & impartially. Some members ( IMO ), are acting like spoiled brats & need to be taken out behind the woodshed, to what extent us up to admin. & mods depending of severity of violation. Some punishments suggestions may be such as: first violation 1 day read only with warning of explanation of violation & punishment, 2nd violation 1 week read only with promise upon next violation banning, 3rd violation banned no exceptions.

Also I believe there should be a waiting period for new members before posting , this will stop people from getting a new member name just to post contradictory statments.
another suggestion would be to place a notice at the beginning of every rumor thread about strict enforcement of TOS rules so no one can claim they didn't know the rules & can be punished accordingly. But please do not restrict or take away the rumor section completly, most do enjoy reading rumors, even if they don't come true.

Admin. feel free to delete this portion if you feel it has no merit.

Also regarding rumors I will give an example of what I believe caused some of the problem. ( Remember this is just an example & completely made up !!! )

Rumor: I heard from my sources that anyone who has brand X of peanut butter will receive 1 million dollars on ( specific date )
now a few days after (specific date) has passed no one received a million dollars for there peanut butter.

Someone says I am a liar because it didn't happen.

am I a liar? no I reported what I heard in good faith, just because what I heard did not happen does not mean I lied.

in the same token someone bashes the rumor, then member(s) state that the rumor is fact & anyone who does not believe it is basically crazy, or too stupid to accept it & to come join in the big peanut butter party we're rich!

I for one don't like being called a liar or told that I have to believe a rumor. So which is worse? I submit that both are equally bad & deserve to be punished equally. Of course that is up to admin. & the mods, and eventho I may or maynot agree with there decisions I will respect them. I know it has been said before but remember these are just rumors, not only the people reading but the ones who post them. Let's hope everyone will think before they post & use courtesy to each others rights of opinion. {notice I made my point without shouting (all caps) or increasing font size}

P.S. I'm still holding a couple jars of peanut butter ..... just incase lol

My opinion on "not" allowing thanks to occur on this forum is that is a horrible idea. Part of what's wrong with this world is the lack of gratitude for what we have. Tell me how expressing thanks is a negative thing. Tell me how having fun is a negative thing.

If you strongly disagree with a rumor or prediction, state your opinion of why you see things in a different light. Just do it in a respectful way.

I look very often forward to your posts mate. Your one of our best contributers, and put things in such a good perspective that its always fun to read your posts (with popcorn).

But why would we want a counter rumor thread that will just die, and eventually all the naysayers will be back in the rumor thread messing with rumors posted there. They can only stir the pot in the real rumor thread and not in an counter thread.

Woulden't it then just be real to tell all naysayers to not mess around in the rumor section if you don't like it.

Your right. I have escalated this situation to this level. Simple. i need results. Testing what works.

Honetly, just enforcing the rules after this DRAMA i have setup for display might now be enough. Most of our members are nice, i agree. But those that vent, come with bad remarks, play the flame game will know that this display of changes concerns them very much, and its best to stay low.

Having had time to digest it all, it comes down to a very few who do not like each other, or there position of respect or not on the forum. We have a few who are huge contributors, and well appreciated I might add, but a few others feel these people are what I would say, no it alls, and there are many who just don't like to see this, and they try to shoot the messenger which is disruptive. Rather than respect the time and effort it takes to be a major contributor, some rather chip away with insults and insinuations, little barbs, tit for tat, you get the point.

From their it escalates, and all of a sudded the name calling and general disrespect starts and there is a break down just like we have seen again this week. It is no different than last time, and this too shall pass. As a mod, I tend to work most of the issues out privately before they escalate, but none of us can cover every situation 24/7/365, but we all try. As I see it, when a mod caused the problem, it should have been delt with privately, and some were trying, but others went public, but what we have seen is this got to be bigger problem than it should have been in my opinion.

Mods need to discuss it more before a decision of adding another mod is made. Indmn was added as a replacement for Neno, but all this could have been avoided if a nominated scenario was used. Personally, I don't care about the other chat rooms and such, as long as they are not hostile towards our forum and members and intentionally try to stir it up. This appears to be what happened just like it did last time, and it seems the same people were involved. This all could have been avoided if new mods were first nominated, then voted on after a thorough evaluation of nominee. So that is my suggestion in the future which would allow more input from more than one person in a snap decision.

No one is perfect, and overall we have a faithful and respectful group of mods, so I believe we can get back to the way it was with little effort having aired out all the current problems and issues. As to the rumor thread, I think it should stay as it is serving a purpose, helping some stay positive and less frustrated, so it is an escape valve for many and I know many like it. Perhaps to avoid problems in the future, we could have a rumor thread and a counter rumor thread, just as we had a naysayer thread which eventually died. People for the most part here are upbeat and positive, so the negative issues some cannot resist can be posted there. It is impossible to please everyone, but just to offer a counter rumor thread will allow these negative people to vent in their own thread, end of problem.

I enjoy a good debate on all issues, but others don't, so since many just can't seem to avoid the rumor section, even when they don't believe any of them or hate the people posting them, I see this as the only other option. Some people just have to post their opinions regardless who it hurts, so lets allow them, but keep it in a separate thread so everyone else does not have to be dragged into fights like we have seen this past week. It's the only think I could think of, and since the naysayers thread died on its own, so too will the counter rumor thread. We really don't have as big a problem as it has now expanded to, just add another thread for the rumor haters since they cannot resist reading rumors to begin with. Just another suggestion to appease all as fairly as possible.
