I would agree with the donate pens for the cause plan, get a job, tell me how I can help you get a job, accept meneal work if thats all you know how to do, but take responsibility for yourself, and quit looking to me to do it for you. I did my part, I ate mud, sweat, sand, blood and sh*t for you, I have bled, burned and cried for you. I have taken a stand between those who would kill you and taken the bullet they ment for you, I helped keep you free, now make the best of that freedom and make something of yourself, I refuse to do EVERYTHING for you.

    Bravo Sir... Bravo...

    I Appreciate You!

Why does it make you angry? I have 4 good boys myself. I refuse to let them be anything but that. I don't have a job because I am retired. Yes, I would say there is a good chance you do have ptsd, at what level I don't know. My wife is a veterans service officer that helps folks with claims for VA. So I see all kinds of crap. I never assumed anything about veterans not being lazy or anything like that. Some are, most aren't. I did not say I was against the donate pens idea. My point that I was trying to make was that just because a person is working a streetcorner does not mean that the person is homeless. They may be just to lazy to work or need drug or booze money. Some people will use any excuse they can not to work and just live off "the system". These are the ones that get to me, the generational welfare folks. Your post did not upset me, I appreciate your honesty on how you feel. However, there are folks in situations that we don't know about and I am just saying we should not judge them unless we do know and understand why they are where they're at.
    Thank you

Agreed, that's why I say, tell me how I can help you get a job. It's a difficult enough task to weed out those who need guidance, from those that need ignored. But I get angry at blanket statements like 200,000 homeless veterns. I have spent the last 6 years of my life fighting for veterns rights in allowing the Wiccan symbol to be accepted as a suitable symbol for VA issued headstones, and I suppose that's why I get upset. Too many folks putting tags on people without looking closely at the group they are labeling. I appreciate very much people like your wife, dealing with the grumpy ex soldiers has to be tough, and she is appreciated too little by many. I see we do agree, once we get to the specifics, so I also appreciate your POV, right now, I want to see an RV so we can move beyond the theory of what we would do, and move into the practice.

I'm behind you 100%. Ditto on the bravo. You came back together enough to still realize how it works. Yeah its depressing to be out of work. Yeah a person can get in a slump that seems like will never end. But attitude is everything, Sir, and I like yours.

I appreciate what you are doing for veterans and we also plan on doing alot more for people around here once this thing hits. Because it is not about giving people a hand out, it's about giving them a hand up.
