I am one of those people who would get mad at all the rich people who have all this money that they know they do not need but fail to contribute what ever they can for their community. It is not only up to our govenrment to take care of our community, but it is ours to.
In my community, I notice that their is alot of homeless people floating about so this is what I plan to concentrate on.
Right now, i do not give money to all the countless number of those with picket signs saying "will work for food" or the such. I was always scared of what they may do with the cash i give them )buy drugs, beer, etc.)
but i do take the time to buy them food or water and hand them out.
After the reval, I will have more money to do more.
I pledge to offer free supper for the homeless and try and have this supper every saturday and also buy a 20 or 40 ft container of used grade A clothing and offer these to homeless for free once a month.
What is your pledge to your community or to any area you feel needs attention?

oh my, about 25 reads or so and only 1 legitimate response. May I add that doing something good like me and marcfaye plan to do is a good tax write off?

It's not that you have only one good response. You don't need to be rich with money to be rich with kindness and generosity.
You can go now to all your family, friends and neighbors and ask for the clothes they no longer wear/need then give them out, tell those who donate that you will take the items that would be discarded off their hands monthly. Go to a homeless shelter and offer to cook or clean for 4 hours a week. You don't need money for any of the above and there's probably a thousand other things that could be added to the list.

I don't think the lack of legitimate responses means there is a lack of people that have plans to help many people. Most people prefer to keep their good deeds private.
In fact Matthew 6:3-4 says: "But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you openly."
I think most people, whether they know it or not, prefer to follow this rather than tooting their own horn. JMHOPlease, somebody shoot the messenger!

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world. The unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man. (George Bernard Shaw)

Money doesn't seem to change people only makes them more or less of what they are if ya know what I mean. I've seen more done by people with little or no money than people with a mass of it. I've always told my wife and children if you want to be a certain way then act like it, don't just dream or think about it do it! If it is something you are determined to do it will happen, most of the time it's the waiting that we can't handle. Sometimes people find that what they really wanted wasn't what they thought. The greatest things in life are not things at all. The love of family and freinds is the real treasure. I have spent a great part of my life poor and as I grew up decided to change the course of my life and not do certain things the crowd did, Basicly just followed my heart and never looked back. Today I have the most wonderfull family ever some cash(more than most) and still many challanges like learning how to spell worth a darn for instance but with a good attitude I know it will work out. So when the dinar goes and it's gona go i'm going to help as many as I can by doing what i'm doing right now and thats just being a freind. May God bless you. Merry Christmas! Oh, and I may build a Christian school or two.

Everyone has within their own capacity, a good reason and heart to help another that is visibly in need of aid of some kind....
It is that moment of truth that one responds, albeit hoplessly or successfully and/or in vain or immensely to awesome that becomes spellbounding to others whatever or however the help turns out to be, it is a part of a daily routine experienced by many through some invisible act but goes down cherished for the giver and the receiver.... and only the Almighty One watching us knows it...that matters most!
Money is meaningful but it also leads to more materialistic dependence which usually isn't the right resource to realise & restore the core cause.
Most who live by humble needs have little to yearn for much more and thus lead a simple and yet rewarding lifestyle enriched with gratitude and in turn is able to give and share the most basic necessities which is so fulfilling and rewarding for all involved.
I would like to help, whenever and however I can within the capacity I am able to sustain... a daily routine that is always ongoing and I feel blessed never to feel the need to compare with someone else richness but more so to save the tears in understanding the hardships of another while I can help in someway possible, that makes me feel humbled and happy with life and trying to bring cheers in anyway with another.... like here in ROLClub...which apparently is unappreciated by a very select few who interpretes it with malicious thoughts and devious hatred....unbelievable so but gradually, they were the ones that were eventually discovered and were banned because of their true colours could not be hidden forever... I hope they mend and change their odd perception on good cheerful life others are enjoying without shame...
Merry Christmas to all of you that believes in charity starting at home first & foremost

Plenty of people and animal shelters will benefit from the wealth when it comes.
Some of the people I work with are on low incomes, and I would love to be able to do something for them also.
