hey, don't think that I do not know who Bryan is and where he comes from.

I've been dinning umpteen times at the P Bistro with Bryan and Sharon and was at the soft launch for Tandoori Restaurant on 10 Aug 05.

It was always something that undermined Warrens credibility that he was so quick to scoff at the "local" Malaysian businesses and saw them as taking money that in his mind should have been transferred to the members.

It is easy to see that people with small vision should sometimes find it difficult to live in Bryans shadow. Perhaps one day we will find out whether the people who walk are actually pushed?

Anyone who has lived overseas and had a business, even a small one, knows how important it is to be seen to be employing local people, contributing to the local economy and developing home grown talent and I think that there is real potential in the mix of East and West that Ronnie Baji is bringing to the market.

Once all these businesses are established and franchised internationally then we will see them start to make a contribution to the ROL. At the moment they are undoubtedly "small potatoes" and Bryan has sown the seeds for future profits.

By the way they also sell Western sizes which is important. Even Gucci, Ferragamo et al sell their shoes (now made in Malaysia) in Eastern sizes and fittings only, and they are too small and narrow for Western feet.

Lets give credit where it is due. The world of high fashion is a hugely competitive arena but who is to say that Pips Fashion won't be a big name in a couple of years and we can all be chuffed that our loans helped to get it started.

Michael!...Generally I have no problem to agree with your analysis!
However, entering a new market with completely new products (fashion and bistros), generally takes many years before they will make profit. Typically 5-10 years, depending on the strategies and level of marketing efforts. Between friends, entering these type of businesses are considered suicide, unless the business concepts are unique!....

Now, we do not know Bryans investment tactics, but maybe it has something to do with Malaysian affairs and politics. Your comments re. providing ROL to the members, hm....I would not count on that. Financially, I am sure that there are many other and better options,....but again, I have no idea of Bryans reasons for entering the "commodities" markets!

I was present at one of Bryans "world tour" meetings, and I honestly never understood his investment strategies in a totally "non-financial" direction.
