Join the Aussie forum.
I assume (just a guess) that it works similar to the mortgage program where u probably make a 10% deposit and then Bryan pays ur car purchase payments.

I did hear somewhere that this was stopped, as they weren't going to accept Picpay any more, but I may be wrong.

You have to qualify as being able to make the payments yourself ,,,, ie earning enough to make your own payments along with all your other debts just the same as any finance company .
Once approved then yes it is meant to be the same as picrealty.
I think that there are some changes on the way but I may be wrong in this.
I do believe that there are plans instigate this sort of situation thruout the different countries as soon as the right people/finance companys and of course banking problems are resolved within each area.
At the moment I believe that you have to be a resident of either Australia or New Zealand to a participent of the program.
But then again I am only human and as I am not personly involved I may be wrong, But I do know that people do have cars and the payments are being made.
A big "P" maybe

Here is some info :
Am I right in saying that the 10% is NOT a down payment on the car but is a payment that is used to fund the loan repayments through PICPAY?

Hey Colsy,
yes I believe the 10% is a fee for the service and not an initial deposit for the car.
Petesake: let us know when your first payment arrives. I'm a bit hesitant to sign my name next to a big loan unless payments are definately getting through.
Is it possible if picpay don't pay to hand in the car without incurring any penalties?
Cheers,
wolfbane.

You finance the car the same as you normally would, so it is you that is responsible for the re-payments, and the usual rules apply if payment is not made. Picpay just promise to make the re-payments on your behalf, so you need to be prepared for the worst case scenario - you make the payments if necessary. I have a ANZ bank re-payment booklet, which has the deposit details on each page. I hope I do not need to use it.

Hi Peter,
Could you explain that how much out of your own pocket when you picked up your car?
All the best.

Citylife,
My only cost (other than the 10% picpay) was $1000 commission to AMBS, and Insurance on the car.

Thank you Peter for the quick respond.
That's what I was thinking. If it works as planned, you got your 4WD for 1000 something dollars!
All the best.

Interesting,
Thanks for updates, but I had a question, when was it known you would have to pay a cash commission, before, or after you applied? Never heard this fee mentioned before?
And as side note, I hope Picpay survives or your vehicle might be mistaken for Bryan's wheels, so duck if you here a backfire. (g) Good luck with your new vehicle, Hyundi has come a long way over the past few years.
Good luck, Mike

Thanks, Citylife and James, but lets see if Picpay pays first before we celebrate.
The commission is payable to AMBS for all applications for Picpay Car purchase since they created this deal for us.

i just got an email reply;
Gday ****
Yes ambs is in operation
Go to www.aambs.com.au
Thanks
Regards ambs
- so assuming picpay are paying its all go. Of course if they stop paying then it falls on the person. So you would probably want to make the finance term as short as possible if you thought picpay might not be around for very long.
Anyone know what kind of GUARANTEES of payment are attached to this - is there any guarantee from picpay that they will make the payments? Anyone have current information?
