I agree almost completely with soaringeagle however I suggest that the quarterly or semi-annual fees should total more than a full year subscription for new members.

That is standard practice to reward those that pays the full annual fee upfront and contributes a little bit quicker to carry the cost of dedicated hosting and other administrative costs.

Paypal handles recurring payments nicely,E-gold doesn't.

    For instance:
    - $7.50 quarterly
    - $14 semi-annual
    - $25 annual

I also think it makes sense to thank the existing members for contributing and/or visiting this forum, and as a gesture, offer a small discount for the first year/half year/quarter to existing members.
Also, allow guests a one time free Read-Only access for 15/30 days so that they can make a fair decision if they want to start paying.

    Suggested discount for existing members.
    - $5 quarterly
    - $12.50 semi-annual
    - $25 annual

That way, there will be no discord between those existing members who can't/won't pay everything upfront.

    jose your post was removed!

If you run a 3 or 10 times bigger forum, that very good! But if you going to accuse a admin that has just suggested something, then you should think again!

Yes, admin is very new to all this. He has not got the full experience, but has been asking me how

    google ads work
    how to accpet ads
    take donations

Google ads dont pay before 60 days!
accept ads, well needs to be setup. no that much income atonce
donations is not made by to many! Honestly it just to move the problems to others.

And we are not 10000 member yeat guys! We are above 7000! And NOT ALLLLLLLLLLLLL PAYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi admin,

Thanks for clearing that up. That was just what I was getting at.

So does 20 registered users that are currently logged into the site take up more bandwidth than 20 guests that are just floating in and out?

heheh, you dont floate inn and out. No 20 registered users logged inn dont take more bandwith then 20 guests doing the same!

    regards

Will gladly pay quarterly or annual fee to keep informed of PIPS's progress.

    Great idea.

    Can easily pay with PayPal.

I like this idea, I will look into it.

1)The only problem with this suggestion will be that if only 100 pay 5 quaterly, that makes 500, how fare does that get us?

    2) This idea envolves 3 folds more work for me to register all users that have paid, and i will have to change major functions around here the way i see it. It means as i want to have something automated that shows member has paid, that will be expensive to develop a system that allowes me to handel this the way you are suggesting it.

I mean i was thinking of 15 USD a year, but some of my mods told me that not all pay! Thats why i decided to raise it with 10 usd more to 25. Remember we do have expences here aswell. Its not just a game of profit as some think it is! AS i said you might take all this the wrong way, and conclude however you wish, but that does not change anything, nor is it any solution to the problem!

I mean if all pay, then 5 Usd is more then enough! Can you tell me if all will pay 100%?, IF YES! THEN 5 USD IS OUR YEARLY MEMBERSHIP FEE THIS YEAR!

But If no, then 25 it is to cover our bills! And if we compare it to some other sites witch take 120 usd, what do you say then??

    1)Sound fair?
2)Rol is just 5 times less greedy, but still Greedy?

I feel its like "Cup is half full or half empty" thinking! I certainly am not going to go into that any futher!

Jose - there is no need to make accusations to the site admin.................first of all let us all be grateful that someone had the interest, money and tenacity to put this forum together. I for one was so happy to hear about it - otherwise none of us would of had as much reliable information from a Forum that has integrity and great mods.

Admin - I'M IN!!!!!! Thanks for putting out your own money to have this forum.......none of us should expect a free ride and those that are really serious I'm sure will contribute............thanks Dianne

I really am thankful for anyone who is willing to provide a forum where all can be heard, and issues of importance can be discussed.
As I am new to this forum, and have never posted in any forum, please know in advance I do not intend insult nor critisism.
I believe everyone who benifits from a forum should contribute to the cost. As for BTI, the $100.00 included many other benifits in addition to a fourm. That being said, a nominal fee that would cover all server expense is totaly correct.
