Hmmm, strange that you've been so 'anti' the Dinar but have put a link to a forum regarding Capital Gains Tax. In order to pay Capital Gains profits from Dinars then you'd have to make some money from them............

I'm not against dinar investment/investors. I'm new to these type of currency investments, and previously posted some articles related to dinar investments,of course some of them were negative in tone. But now I'm interested in dinar investments,and understanding that the dinar investments are only good for long-term.

It's time I took some advice.
The popular opinion is that the Dinar will make money, but the question is, 'long or short term?'

More people seem to be moving away from the idea of making millions next year, but maybe before 2010.

My own personal feeling is January 06 we will see a revalue. As to the amount, well, pick a figure! Too low and it won't be worth them doing, too high and they don't have enough reserves to back it and pay out if everyone went to cash them in. So anything from maybe .10 to .31 to the dollar, but this really is just an opinion based on what have read etc. I have 5.8 million Dinars and will leave it at that.

I believe the country needs a higher currency for the economy out there and sooner rather than later.

To me the final piece of the equation is a.) having the government in place which will happen by the end of December. And b.) for the IMF to approve the SBA. The IMF are due to make some sort of an update on Iraq in the next day or two. Will keep my eyes out for it.

Once the IMF approve the loan IMO this will kickstart a r/v sometime in January 06.

Guess, that trusty old phrase/cliche 'don't invest more than you can afford to lose' comes to mind, but hey, you know that anyway matey like for any investment/opportunity!

Yes, I use to buy and sell on ebay, but beware, I know many are not getting their orders, so not only check feedback, but read the fine print, some will mandate insurance at a high rate. Also, Paypal no longer will allow payments for currency and are locking up accounts of transactions.

We could all speculate forever, and I would bet we would all be right. I believe we will see short term gains, as in three months, mid term, as in 2 years, and long term, as in ten years. No matter how many ways I look at this, it is unique, so unique no one will be 100% right, but even if we are all correct, just a little, I would be happy.

I did well with the Kuwaiti dinar, but that was a totally different set of circumstances, yet it reminds me of the same potential with Iraqi dinar, only far more powerful as Iraq has so much more in the way of assets, and a longer way to go before dinar tops out. The bottom line in my research is we cannot lose, not even a dime, so with so little risk, I don't really care how long it takes to top out, all I know is I will have plenty riding on the long term, and I may sell on the short side just to get my original ROI back, so different strategies are all OK to me.
