The point that I found interesting is there is the possibility that when the Dinar is pegged and a value is set. The Iraqi Gov't will then have a foreign bond sale, print new currency at that date, with new ##'s and give the Iraqi citizens a small window of opportunity to exchange the dinars they have for newer currency. All outstanding Dinars may be declared worthless after that!!!

That is a risk that I see. Buying a foreign country's currency???

Billions was just spent to convert currency from Saddam era to current era, so why would any government spend billions more to replace a brand new highest security currency in the world? Well, tell us? A bond, since when does that have anything to do with currency. US offers bonds and the currency is not changed, so what was your point about bond issue?

As fas as exchanges when currency changed in 2003, there was an ample window open for everyone to exchange, so again, your point is baseless even if it were to be exchanged with a newer version. The only time currency changes is when it is upgraded to a higher security against counterfieting, or a new government comes in, and that has already just happened after decades of Saddam rule, so don't expect another government anytime soon. (g)

Look, the date is not a problem, when considering the pros and cons of investing in dinars. I'm not intend to discourage dinar investors. I've provided these links only for information. It's upto you to dicide whether buying millions of dinars is worth or not.

Could you tell the bank names outside of Iraq that are currently accepting dinars for exchange with other currencies?

Here is a little hint if you want to truly be helpful. When you do your searched for anything negative, it will all be outdated, and not relevant anymore, so to save your time, put Iraqi Dinar November 2005 in search and save yourself a lot of wasted time posting ancient history. We welcome all relevant news, but old news does little more than confuse people.

Looks like Iraqi oil officials were sand bagging Saddam and did not disclose the fact that another large reserve was found in Iraq which was only recently announced. This could put Iraq in the number one position as the largest oil producer further enhancing the economic climate in Iraq.

Good news, Novemebr 11th, 2005

It appears Iraq will soon be the worlds largest oil reserve as a new discovery was just announced. It looks like oil officials were sand bagging Saddam and did not disclose the discovery of a huge new oil reserve which will further enhance the Iraqi economic rebirth, just in time to influence the peg.

If you really want to learn about how much difference a day can make, read this article.

Iraqi oil officials were evidently sand bagging Saddam regime and did not mention that a new oil discovery was found in Iraq. This is expected to make Iraq the world leader in oil production which will bode well for the economic recovery and the impending currency peg.

As I have pointed out several times, any new older than October 15th is useless. Every day makes a difference, good or bad, but old news is useless unless you are totally unaware of event going on in Iraq. This oil discovery puts Iraq on even more stable footing for even faster economic recovery.

In total agreement with you with the rate of what is changing daily in Iraq, articles 2, 3 months or longer out of date are about as useful as a plane without engines.

There is just one guy on ebay that is willing to sell 200,000 NID for just £100 delivered.
