I don't think the problem here is as big as some have made it nor do I believe the solution is as hard either.
First off, I'm fairly confident that most of the visitors to this site enjoy reading rumors. However we don't like the rumor section in it's current state.
My belief is what most people don't like is 1) the fighting 2) page after page of posts that add nothing to the topic.
However, many people on here also do like to recognize or give thanks to the poster of the rumor which alot of times causes the mass amounts of posts.
My solution would be
1) Do not allow any response to the thread which is not a direct (respectable) reply to the rumor itself or a respectable question to the author. Keep the chit chat in its own forum or thread.
2) Add the thanks button back like Admin said he would do so that people can show their appreciation to the author of the post.
A mod cannot validate or invalidate a rumor, so I do not see the point of sending a PM for approval. I believe if those things are applied, things will run smoothly and the nature of the forum would be much more positive.

Mate i dont mind, but not the whole forums. I just sent very strong unpro but "STUDENT" (as someone wanted to state), signals out there to the whole membership.
That things will change around here.
Besides we need more NEUTRAL MODS AROUND HERE that can take fast action once needed.. IT will for sure not be any member representing the MOB or the CULT. Anyone you guys would suggest? or anyone wanting the job to monitor this forum 24/7? and enforce the rules to their last dot??????????????????????????????????????????????? ????????
Me a MOB. lol. NOT... Thats what i am trying to work against.
Have a nice day.

Mods need to be quicker at flushing the carp down the drain.
I suggest going right back to the way it was before you alienate too many people Marek.
As for the troublemakers, BAN 'EM! Enforce a Zero-Tolerance policy towards your TOS and all is balanced again.
How's that?
Too much control makes for a paranoid userbase, afraid to post or comment. I want the freedom to express myself in an adult, mature manner.
Go back to what worked and weed out the weeds. Your flowers will grow much stronger that way.
Thank you.Last edited by Hardwood; 07-06-2007 at 02:09 AM.

There are lots of pages posted inn here now faster then i can manage to respond to them..
I think however need to make a pool to come to some sort of conclusions from this Drama at display...
I will setup a simple VOTING in next thread and give you all 24h to vote.
What ever the results of that voting will be is what our forum policy will be.
Anyone not able to digest the majority rules, will simply have their usernames, ips, email, TOTALLY BANNED!
That is how i am starting to see things now.
I could have enforced just the rules from the start.BUT i want to for once see how the dinar membership would like to see things run in this forum.
GIve me option for a voting please.
Regards

Being an observer only in the rumor threads, I have noticed a pattern that I feel is the biggest part of the problem. Mind you its not all of the problem, just a big part of it. But if you (admin) will take for example the Royce Royce threads in particular you will see that alot of the discontent started with 'new posters'. A few 'newbies' came in and kept the threads stirred up to the point that the threads had to be locked. Once they started ragging the rumor it just fueled the other members that either did not like the rumor itself or the people behind the rumor. One thing would lead to another then wham..thread closed. Alot of these new members headed directly to the rumor thread for their first posts, which in itself seemed strange to me. No sooner would a new thread open, deja vu all over again.
My suggestion would be don't allow new members to post in the rumor section until they have posted a certain amount of posts in other sections of the forum, say 20 (just pulling a number out of my hat). That way you as Mods and we as members can see what type of person they are and how to take them and their sincerity. IMO this would solve alot of problems, but it is only my opinion.
Admin..please look over the threads I mentioned and determine this for yourself and I think you may agree to my observations. Hope this helps.
Cheers!

I agree and think this is the root of the problem + I think mods should be fair to both sides - which just doesn't happen and wish to press this home.
Sorry OSW and Admin - but I read OSW's post and saw clear bias. People who are perceived as negative - are usually not - and just wish to see some integrity instead of nonsense being sold as fact.Last edited by Seaview; 07-06-2007 at 02:18 AM.

1. Back to the way it was- open forum, strictly enforced TOS.
2. Moderated posts only in the Rumor section
3. Single post rumor section, anonymously.
4. Single post rumor section, not anonymous.
5. Removal of the Rumor section.
6. Relocation of the Rumor section with one link to it in the Dinar section.
7. 20 post moderated minimum for new members. I like this idea the best!
.....that's all I can come up with....anyone else?Last edited by Hardwood; 07-06-2007 at 02:14 AM. Reason: added #7
