The dinar will not be $1:1000 in 2-3 years. This is what is going to happen. In the very near future it will be RV'd at over $1.00 or more and only that. If that was said then it's one of the biggest lies ever. IMO...

This rumor seems perfectly obvious to me. The GoI have said the 1000:1 line for a long while. 1260:1 for the budget, working toward 1000:1 by years end. It's the party line in Iraq.

Now, if you were the MoF for Iraq and someone came up to you in NY and asked what would become of the dinar, what would you say? "We're gonna reval to 1:1 soon" or "1000:1 in a year or two, then we'll see."

I do not think the original poster was bs-ing. I think this sounds exactly like what the Iraqi MoF would say if asked by some guy in NY what was up with the future of the dinar.

this is very logical. he gave a very generalized answer without being too specific, the way ministers and politicians are prone to do, its in there DNA.

I'm beginning to wonder if this is right....no RV?! I am still in shock that the CBI is back up and business as usual after the fiasco on the 30th.
