This is the information I have received thus far. It may not be all that everyone is looking for, but it is all that I was given today. I was given a couple of phone numbers to contact the boots in the AOR, so my information won't be so second-hand. I will continue to obtain as much information as I can and provide it to the folks that want it. If you have any questions concerning this information I will try to answer them as best as I can. If you feel the question requires more detail please PM me and ensure you give me permission to post the info, otherwise it will be between you and I.

    1. Have any of these folks seen any distribution of denominations smaller than the 50 Dinar notes? A: Have not seen any smaller demons yet, but will ask around the local community.

    3. Are the dealers in Kuwait still selling and at what rate? And: 2- When dinars can be picked up, the rate is anywhere from 850-950 dinars to the US buck. Confirmnation would be nice. A: Yes, the dealers are still selling the IQD in Kuwait at the rate of $765 usd per 1M IQD.

1- I am hearing that street black marketers have been shut down and selling dinars is illegal. I have heard this from 3 sourses, but would like additional confirmation if possible. A: There is no word from the boots in the AOR of black marketing, because they are still legally selling the IQD at Currency Exchange Dealers, but they will ask around the streets to see if there are any black market prices...more to come.

    6. Has Kuwait officially taken care of the Iraqi's debt? A: There is talk going around that the Kuwaiti Govt is expecting and still waiting for damages from the destruction that was caused by Iraq...* Remember Please* The folks I am getting this info from are not in politics. They are doing a job in Kuwait, and are going out getting the answers that we would like to get answers for.

    7. Would anyone happen to have heard any rumblings concerning Iraq vs Kuwait’s rate? And: 8. Will Iraq try to mimic, or perhaps Kuwait may have suggested an equal or close value? A: My folks told me the rate to 1KD = $3.40USD, and the talk about the IQD is not to mimic the Kuwaiti Dinar right away, but to start out it would be around .01-.15 cents US initiailly or .10-.20cents US.

I hope this is OK for a start!

Thank you for the answers. Hope i can get some answers as well. Few weeks ago i read that iraqi citizens were holding/not spending the dinars. So my Q is: It would be nice to ask actual iraqi citizens why they are holding their dinars? Also "when" they think it'll RV at what rate. I'm sure they aren't going to hold them for ever. Because they need place to sleep and eat. Thank you

Question Notazbad 1 question you may help with

Notazbad do you have any info about the Kurdish areas in northern Iraq and their thoughts of what appears like they want to be their own state or possibly country . What would that do for the rest of Iraq and there monetery system? I may be talking out of turn but reading alot lately and just seem's like the vibe. Maybe anyone else who may know more please chime in.
