the morning after

following a well deserved drunk, the morning after news of the reval, what is the first thing anyone of us SHOULD do? the smart thing? like ive said before this is my first foray into the wonderful world of investing.

should we hire a tax lawyer?
should we withdraw every penny?
should we keep some of it in the bank?
will taxes eat us alive?
can anyone with any sound financial advice please take pity on me?

You are missing one option there, for us, girls:

I would be hangover, but I would still go right to the bank, exchange a 25,000 dinar bancnote and get me some nice diamonds. THEN, I would take an Aspirin. Oh, probably two or three... But I can not guarantee that would happen immediately after the reval night, cause I may be passed out for a week...

About the options you mentioned: that's why I have a husband, to take care of that stuff.

Jola i'm with ya there, hubby can handle it from here......he can do all the footwork. One question i have though, is there a thread anywhere on this site that we can discuss the where and hows, as far as which banks are definitely xchanging when it happens and how we go about approaching them, i pictured hubby walking in and just getting blank stares from the tellers followed by a hasty exit compliments of bank security. do we have a post rv meeting place here?

No, no, choochie, she meant a thread on exchanging banks - like rates, deals, etc.

I know that Chase Bank will take my dinar back as long as I have a receipt that I got it from them. But yes, we should have a post-reval thread to discuss the best deals that people find, with which banks and so on.

BTW, I know CharterOne will buy dinars too.

Well, I will share this much. I know someone verY well who is a bank exec. for one of the banks we frequently talk about here on rol. This person said that they were planning on not charging a fee for exchange, if one was willing to sign a contract keeping xxx amount of dollars for 3 years (not sure of the length of time that is what was being thrown around) with that paticular bank's investment services. What got me excited about this, is that they (the bank) is TALKING about what they will do! Not that I think the bank knows more than rolclub...but, it is good that they are thinking good thoughts as well.

Please do not ask me for further details, as I would hate to be the person that starts the second Bank Calling Frenzy!!

I will give you a hint to which bank it is......THEY ALWAYS GIVE LOLLIPOPS TO MY CHILDREN!!!
