One thing is for sure, you can't try to convince anyone that their spiritual walk is the only way.
You guys can quote scripture and try to tell the future from how much bull manure smells.
It's a personal walk.

Not only Jews use Gods name of Jehovah. Multitudes of people of different backgrounds use his name as the Bible states that all those calling on the "name" of God shall be saved. How can you call on someones name if you don't know it?
And someone hit the nail on the head by stating that TRUE Christians should not celebrate the Pagan holiday of Christmas which is not only man made, but was not celebrated by first century Christians.

It amazes me that so many people have to put their two cents in, outlining everything that there is no God. It clearly shows us in the bible that it is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that you will walk in victory and go to heaven when you die. If you don't believe in God (Jehovah), Jesus Christ, or the Holy Spirit, that's fine, but you cannot convince someone who has that relationship with God otherwise.

faithful Denim
Denim, I would like to say that you truly demonstrate graciousness under fire. I also discern true humility in your discourse with Kimlyn (I've been following from the begenning) The fruits are apparent in you my friend.
Although we can see that Kimlyn is pretty far down the road, I sensed in her last post (assuming her) as I;m sure you did, that she has in fact not committed the "unpardonable sin". I found my heart quite pained by the time I got to the end of her post. Her "Grand post" was very personally revealing I'm sure you'd agree. I will include you both in my prayer time.
peace

Hi Manoo;
I wish to add my comments here please be patient in trying to understand this.
One thing is for sure, you can't try to convince anyone that their spiritual walk is the only way.
Don't be so sure of your comments here. I felt exactly that way when I was an avid Christian for some 30 years and was proven wrong simply because I was so "cock sure" of my beliefs as being correct. I saw no need to do deep research into their origins. Since I have left I have learn't so much more - it would make your head spin. Christianity is a belief system which was a competitor to Mithrasism. Both were seen as 'a cults' in the first century and Christianity was termed "The Way". Your reasoning is somewhat like - Because you can't see air, or electricity; then it can't be proven to exist. [ I can quote scriptural texts to support these if required.]
You guys can quote scripture and try to tell the future from how much bull manure smells.
Yes we can quote scripture that is a good skill to have. You must know the enemy your trying to convert. But what do you mean when you say -"try to tell the future from how much bull manure smells" ???
If that is a critism then its meaningless without any real support. Its a direct result of feeling insecure with your current faith.
It's a personal walk.
Yes it is - there are 'many gods and many lords' and many ways to worship. For me I declare my faith to those who enquire; as a defense. I am a researcher and am interested in "The Truth" whatever that may be. A lot of people critisize without any any support; which means their faith is in vain.
And as for it being "a personal walk, or thing" Matthew 24:14 & ACTS 1:8; 20:20 says - 'the faith should be declared to the most distant part of the earth ( which includes the World Wide Web ) and from 'House to house'.' Do you preach or do you keep quiet ??? In defense of Christians they are doing what scripture commands them by talking about it to everyone. So much so the crusades slaghtered all those who wouldn't convert. All Christains wage a spiritual warefare, and have to gird themselves with a suit of armour as per Ephesians 6:13-20 in order to defend the good news of their faith. Defending means "aurguing" the facts and doctrines. Though I am not a Christian - I "fight fire with fire" - "Do unto others what they do to you".
Sincerely yours
Kimlyn
Ps ; Your comment - Leave it alone!!!! - does this theological debate/ discussion whatever you call it bother you ? If it does skip it and go to other posts. No-one is forcing you to read them.

Whilst impressive and sure wins the 'BIG POST' prize, it doesn't change my relationship with God one bit. What is the point of it I wonder.
If you more learned than I choose not to believe in God, not to believe in His Son as saviour, fine, it's YOUR choice.
I make the prediction that when you are asked to account for your decision before your creator.....you'll believe then.

The fruits are apparent in you my friend.
Hi Kevo;
Commenting on your last post-
Although we can see that Kimlyn is pretty far down the road, I sensed in her [ I am a male ] last post (assuming her) as I;m sure you did, that she has in fact not commited the "unpardonable sin". [ You don't know what I know about this matter though I appreciate your assurance.]
I found my heart quite pained by the time I got to the end of her post. Her "Grand post" was very personally revealing I'm sure you'd agree. I will include you both in my prayer time.[ Please don't pray for me as I resent it. I have strong reasons for why I say this. I have a very real AXE to grind with God for his lack of assistance when asked. I'm sorry but I believe God is "the evil" in the world and not the good. Most of my lifes problems are a direct result of Christians betraying me in one form or another.]
As for "the fruits of the spirit" - yes I don't claim to have them, I threw the nine fruits out of the window years ago when I left Christianity. Now I am deemed an apostate by some, to others ANTI -Christ. As I don't have the holy spirit, but rather the unholy spirit, then "my behaviour to some extant is justified" in that I don't live by those rules; and refuse too.
Thanking you for reading
Kimlyn

Kimlyn,
If you're busy grinding an ax with God... who are you praying to, when you offer to pray for people?

Prayer...
When it comes to the devotion of the "spiritual exercise" of prayer, most "Christians" cannot compare themselves to the committment others make to this practice.
There are times when I hear some people "praying" and wonder if they are not really practicing the dark arts.
Others think that by their great supplications they are going to coerce God into fulfilling their desires. (The Lord is my shield and "Butler"....please forgive the misquote).
Some stand by "Prayer moves the hand of God", as if He doesn't know what He is doing. Would we not be much wiser in recognizing that "Prayer moves ME into the hand of God."
A dear friend of mine used to visit the sick in hospitals on a regular basis to provide spiritual support. Invariably he would offer a prayer on their behalf, but before he left their bedside would ask the question, "How is your communication with God? One-way or Two-way?"
How important it is that we learn to seek Him for Himself, and not for what we can expect Him to do on our behalf.
One of my favorite stories that Jesus told was of a servant who laboured all day in the fields, came in and was told by his master to prepare the evening meal. He did, and then served the meal, waiting totally on his master. When complimented, his reply is stunning. "I have only done what you have enabled me to do".
Should I be numbered with the elect and chosen, standing before Him in glory, I expect that many shall be surprized to see me there as I shall be.
Christians laud the Apostle Paul, and well they should for by his hand we are given the majority of the New Testament. When he approached the end of his time, he tells us that he pummeled his flesh lest after having preached the gospel he should become a castaway.
Let us with all dilligence take heed lest we fall.
interesting.
