I am sure you heard my bus story from Yogi. Here's another account from the newspaper today. If only I had booked ahead of time, I can get real cheap seats for flights. I have enough of the buses for now. Look at today's report.

Bus seat allotted to me sold to another

NORMALLY, bus ticket prices from Johor Baru to Kuala Lumpur cost RM25, but on April 6, bus companies jacked up the price to RM35, claiming that it was Good Friday and The Goddess Kwan Yin’s birthday.

It has always been a norm for them to raise prices on celebrations like Chinese New Year and Hari Raya, but for the Goddess Kwan Yin’s birthday? Due to my desperation to get home, I gave in to their excuse.

What happened next was even worse. When the bus arrived, I discovered that I had no seat! This was because I bought the ticket from their agent in Sri Puteri, nearby my university, and the seat allotted to me was sold to someone else.

Finally, I was forced to sit on the back row which was not even a seat! The place was dirty, hot and noisy because it is near the engine bay. I had to sit at that place for three hours.

I’m not the first victim. I’ve personally witnessed such scenarios almost every time I take a bus home. Imagine this happening to a tourist. The image of our country would be tarnished and Visit Malaysia 2007 will go down the drain.

Besides, the bus drivers' attitude when driving is totally horrible. Some would chat on the phone, race with another bus, and even drive way above the speed limit.

I would like and hope you drop by this thread, in particular and respond ASAP to this post to clarify so no one loses any money for no rhyme or reason...esp. YOU and here, through the ROLClub Forum.

I got the same PM and thought the person made a mistake or whatever and dismissed it. It looks like another kind of agenda is working here, however, but likely it sums up to about nothing, whatever it is.

Have you perceived the update on Bank Negara Malaysias site about the PureInvestor.com Inc. and its Related Companies. I think it´s very interesting.

You mean this one. It is quite new, it wasn't there last week when I looked:

Bryan John Marsden and Phan Sew Ken, directors of PureInvestor.Com Inc. and its related companies were charged separately at a Malaysian Sessions Court on 30 August 2006 for engaging in money laundering by receiving money which are proceeds from unlawful activities, an offence under section 4(1) of Anti-Money Laundering Act 2001 read together with section 87(1) of the same Act.

The court has fixed 22 May 2007 for mention. The next hearing date was also fixed on 10 to 11 September 2007 and 26 to 30 November 2007.

That's the gauntlet thrown before anyone among the wishful thinkers... I just hope the court would not extend further legal charges aimed at anyone, by supporting the Govt's interpretation of those "unlawful activities" at those, who contributed the money as funds as being an accessory to PI Inc's fraudulent operatives which is beginnning to be viewed as highly suspect by the Malaysian State....

I wish this outcome as otherwise, for then, the money... ALL OF IT, is and will rightfully be confiscated by that Govt. 's argument!!!

For then, it would NOT be safe nor wise to be anywhere near the proceedings during the trial process... chances of arrest & subsequently indicted is possible...

Must re-assess this as a whole I believe...
