This notion that because BM did not run, when he could have, somehow makes PIPS legitimate is a real puzzling one, but remember: Blake Prater didn't run, and he just plead guilty to running a Ponzi and sentencing is set for January 17; the people behind Alfinsa didn't run, and they took in close to $5 Billion estimated; Fred Lewis, who only got 150 Million from his scam, didn't run and he is awaiting trial (bet he cops a plea); Charis Johnson of 12DP didn't run, and she is in jail awaiting trial; and JTL (Just The Lord) took in $500 Million, and he didn't run and is in jail awaiting trial. Now I could go on and list a whole bunch of scam artists who took in a lot of money and didn't run. Not sure why, but just because you didn't run, which BM likes to claim makes him not guilty of anything, doesn't make you not guilty.

I have my theories as to why they don't run, but they are just that theories. Only they know why.

Well 12DP was still paying people when it got stopped. Charis had no need to run really, as there were no complaints from her users. Everyone was paid as promised. Can't comment on the others, though.

I have often said it has to be the act of a pathological liar, for nothing else makes sense. I looked him right in the eye and asked specific questions, and he never looked to the side, he never changed blinking sequence, he showed none of the indications almost all liars demostrate. I have to conclude, he was at the stage where he believed all that he ****ed as the truth. When I think back, in the early days he would listen to advice from members, but as each month went by, he got more and more billigerant when questioned, which is a sign of progressive illness. There really is no other excuse for doing what he did, he is sick.

Good point,

Charis had a nice little delayed payout scenario, so she could keep just ahead enough ahead not to come up short on new money coming in. As long as you have that delay calculated in, and it is consistant, then a pyramid could essentially continue forever. When you have a helter skelter system like PIPS, with no idea of who or how many will make withdrawals at any given time, there is potential for cash flow shortages.

I must say, Charis was stupid smart, and having seen the numbers taken in, $500,000,000.00, I must say, this was one of the best scams I have ever seen. If not for StormPay strangling cashflow with there games, I would suspect she would still be up and running. She built a big house, so I am sure she figured the same thing, but bottom line is this, no complaints will usually not get any notice by authorities, but with all the restrictions on currency movement these days, a deal like hers will get hit on money laundering sooner or later.

What she did was still illegal whether people were paid or not.

I don't think she is in jail yet, but she was cooperating with authorites was last I heard, so those who did make money may be getting contacted by receiver shortly as they milk this one for all its worth, after all, this is what gov. authorities do, and they do it very effectively to insure the losers get as little as possible back, while receiver gets the majority. (g)
