We are all still interested in the outcome of the trials.

Some like it hot, some prefer it cold...whatever the outcome esp. for those badly hit with the BM and PicPay experience!!

Personally, and to be honest abt this saga coming to a closure, the outcome would not weigh much for me as it may answer the justice most (or many to be safe on statistics) are waiting for should the case ends with a prison sentence irrespective of the length behind bars.

I am more for what is to be drawn as precedent here to prove and display to others that were gullibly swayed by the smooth talk and longterm strategy that Bryan presumably had "up his sleeves" while his conduits blatantly mocked the rest both in glamour and style thinking they were like "untouchables" within several Forums!!!

I just hope that those badly conned will forgive and for those stern supporters, repent and realise their gloaty mistake and review their fault in sullied and callous ill-judgement on others who were also seeking a genuine financial way out with some hope they truly were willing to sacrifice ALOT and risks just to make ends meet and to achieve some quality in life with extra cash albeit the "easy way out"... and that is a difficult road to analyse when one is not cut out to survive lavishly with such simplified too good to be true solutions....like the term, "outside the box" approach readily applied as back up for Bryan's vision!

Whatever prevails after the court case, I hope a meaningful lesson is learnt through this Malaysian undertaking against a global scammer...should he be proven as one, we just have to hear the legal & official version eventually!

YB. - cheers to all with some reservations for patience and accepting a painful lesson learnt.

    Default totally unbelievable

I sit here reading the comments made about the whole pips situation and just shake my head at the individuals here that make the world's "sheep"population. I am going to relate to you something that opened my eyes totally to the way that people can be fooled into giving away their hard earned money. A group of us were sitting in MSN chat having a good disscussion one night when I came up with an idea. This involved the sale of trees. Not just any tree, a new breed that was discovered in South America. A tree that grew incredibly large in just a few years. The wood from these trees was incredibly strong and would be worth a fortune in the lumber industry. The deal was, we would be renting land in Seattle to grow these trees. The cost to the people would be simply 20.00 per tree and when they matured in two or three years they would yield a profit of over $2,000.00 per tree. Sound good? Well, the plan was to make all this money and then a year down the road there would be a huge fire caused by lightning that would wipe out the total forest.

See how easy it is to come up with a scam? It was so easy that I had several people private message me wanting to know where they could send their money.
If I were the type of person that had no conscience in taking people's hard earned money I could have been very very rich. Just think...get the money, put it in offshore and then dissapear. Money can buy you a lot these days, new identities, new lifes...etc. Heck, I could have even have set up a nice fancy convention in Hawaii for all our "tree" investors.
The only difference is....I care about my fellow humans, I have a conscience. Unlike the low lives like the Marsdens of society that can preach they are doing good for society and then fleece them without losing sleep, I like to look at myself in the mirror and would never ever consider taking a single cent from these folks that were so willing to trust me. I did this to show them how easy it is for the low life scum sucking scammers to take advantage of good people in this world. These are the type of people that would literally steal the pennies off of dead people's bodies.
So to all of you that still think that the Marsdens were good people and were taken advantage of by the banks, all I say to that is.......want to buy a tree?

Time to wake up.....and remember what we should all remember....IF IT'S TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE............well....you know the rest!

This is not news...this is just reality!

    Exactly,

I agree 100%, so many times the ones who are suppose to be the most caring are the biggest thiefs, as with Marsden's. Sure had me fooled, even with enough red flags to resurrect the U.S.S.R. Well, live and learn, I will never fall for the benevolent BS again. I will do my own donating as I have for years, who needs someone else to donate to worthy causes when we can do it ourselves. It was part of the con that most fell for, and that is what hurts the most, knowing this was the core of the scam, lure people hearts into scam to get their money.

    Good luck to all, Mike

    Not to anyone in particular/

I’ve been alive on this planet for over five decades and if there’s one thing I’ve learned it is simply this: What appears as obvious often turns out to be something else.
People are so quick to jump to conclusions based on someone else’s prognosis of a situation that is not based on facts. I’ve been guilty of that myself and I’m not just talking about this PIPS situation.
Personally I’m not at all sure what exactly Bryan Marsden is guilty of if indeed he is guilty of any wrongdoing. Many here are so sure Bryan Marsden is guilty of having perpetrated some form of a scam that they are quite comfortable in openly castigating the man.
Throughout history innocent people have been stoned to death, Hanged by the neck until they’re dead, have had their heads chopped off or fried in an electric chair all because what appeared to be obvious turned out to be something else. This is why civilized countries have abolished the death penalty.

I consider the nature of the charges brought by the Malaysian authority to be rather interesting.

A certain law firm is holding evidence that proves that Polis Diraja Malaysia, The Malaysian SC and Bank Negara were aware of the activities of Bryan Marsden et al as far back as 2003, possibly even earlier. These authorities were at the time receiving many, many inquiries about Bryan Marsden and PureInvestor from all around the world.
Bank Negara was more than justified in fact obligated to have had PureInvestor more closely inspected back then. If such inspection had been done back then and it was discovered that PureInvestor was making false claims on its website so as to attract investment, tens of thousands of people would not have lost their money.

So….why did the Malaysian authorities sit back for TWO YEARS and watch as Millions of dollars flowed into this enterprise called PIPS that was operating right from under their nose before freezing its bank accounts?????????????? Something smells very fishy to me and I’m not the only one who thinks so.

    Chester,

My take is that they had to wait for local complaints - remember that locals were getting paid speedily - or at least for an official allegation of "wrongdoing" rather than "it's taking a while to get my money" complaints, if you see what I mean.

I know he's innocent until proven guilty, and I've sat myself on the fence for a long time, but I can't help but think that to wait a year to charge him after starting to investigate means they have got some pretty good evidence.

Can anybody give me an answer when the date of this trial is. I have written this question before, but it seems nobody knows and can answer me. Please help me with this, because this is the most important question for me for now.

As Nej points out, they would have to wait for complaints from local "investors." The function of a Central Bank is not to police fraudulent investment schemes (Caveat Emptor applies here) but to control and govern the monetary policies of the country.
Pips was not registered as a financial entity (save perhaps one company which seems to have been registered) and therefore its activities would not have come within the purview of the authorities - until they received a specific complaint from their citizens.
I am a firm believer in innocent until proven guilty, but, as I have pointed out many times, rebutting money laundering charges is extremely difficult. The prosecution hold all the aces and, more importantly, all the bank records. The chances of Bank Negara bringing a frivolous case are, I would think, negligible.
