    Official trade unions Oil: Oil Ministry refused to allow the union to work within the ministry

    Shahristani: Electoral Commission reject the measures that you want to fool the Iraqi citizen

    Iraq, Iran to co-develop joint oilfields

    An agreement was reached between Iraq and Iran during talks in Tehran to hatch a plan for comprehensive development of five joint oilfields, according to an Iranian news agency on Sunday.

    “Iraqi and Iranian officials had talks on development of their joint oilfields and also to obtain more information for future upgrading,” Mehr quoted Ali Reza Daighami.

    He stressed the need for more consultations to reach a final agreement to develop joint oil and gas fields.

    BP discusses oil well in Basra

    A delegation from British Petroleum (BP) is in Basra to discuss the issue of developing an oil well in the province. "BP should improve the production of the Northern al-Rumaila oil well from 1.5 to 3m bpd per year," a local source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency on Saturday.

    He stressed that it is important that the company uses Iraqi manpower to e.xecute the project.

    Baghdad vote recount starts officially

    The Independent High Electoral Commission announced that a manual recount of votes related to last month’s parliamentary elections has started officially on Monday at Al Rashid Hotel in Baghdad.

    Recount of votes is expected to include 600 polling stations while 800 ballots are due to be recounted in the coming days, IHEC spokesman judge Qassem Al Aboudi said in a press conference.
    The recount of votes will last for two weeks, Al Aboudi said.

    Kurdistan Alliance has withdrawn its contests over election results in Mosul and Kirkuk, he added.
