They, like the Halifax, get their dinars from Travelex and informed me that they haven't had any for a couple of days but now have some, only 25,000s though!

A friend of mine in Belfast tried to get them at the Halifax today but no go. He told me the girl looked at him like he was completely mad! She showed him the screen and he said the only currency on it was Jordanian dinars. He's going to try Barclays and HSBC tomorrow, I'll let you know how he gets on.

So, it looks like if you haven't got your quota yet, you'd better get your skates on! It's all getting very exciting! Trying my best to keep my feet on the ground but..............it's sooooooooooooo hard!

Dropping of the dollar agianst iraqi dinar caused by low interest rates

Dr. Taha Fakhri, member of the Iraqi Institute for developing the economy, said: "The decline in interest rates is the reason behind the slight decline in the dollar in governmental auctions and commercial transactions". He added: "This decline is also caused by the weak consumers demand on imported goods due to the deteriorating security situation, which compelled the State to finance some important deals".

He pointed out that: "The slight rise or decline of the dollar does not obstruct the growth or value of the iraqi dinar which is expected to become stronger than before with the introduction of the balance of 2007 and the strategic application of the new monetary policy announced by the government last year". He explained: "The decline will be reflected on the value of the precious metals whose prices will rise as a result of the fall in the dollar, which gives an opportunity for those who hold commercial transactions, such as automobiles and heavy equipment, to invest them". i think that disbursement is their first check from the oil profits.

1,429 Dec 6th less 10% (-142.9) equals 1286 IQD to one USD. Or, in other words. 1 Mil IQD divided by (new value) 1286 equals the CBI value on 1 Mil IQD in USD of $777.60. If they go with the panel recomendations, this is likely to be what we are going to see in the first big Dinar jump. I'm not too happy with it. But it is a move in the right direction.

You mentioned about 1 1/2 weeks ago in a post that the Kurds want settle for a R/V of anything less than $1.20 because they use the Swiss Dinar, I think it was something like this. Can you further explain this? I wasn't aware the Kurds use a different dinar before the war.

so this is what you think the isx stock will be priced at when they open with a new value to the world???

this report was made by congressmen in the usa, im not real sure how influencial they are with the iraqi govt. but i suspect the iraqi govt. will raise the rate to what they damn well want and not what is suggested by some other country.

the kurds used the swiss dinar which was valued at 1.20 before the new currency and they were to trade in for it. they did get a higher price of dinar for their swiss dinar back then but they want that purchasing power back they had with the swiss dinar. i have read articles indicating this and have gotten reports from boots on the ground that the kurds will absolutely want out of the govt. if they cant get that back and then can set their own currency value. i for one dont want the kurds to walk since they have half the oil up there.
