    Good points,

As anyone who has been following this for a couple years or longer will know, all these pieces of broken country were thought to be impossible to put back together. I recall the same issues when Kuwait was invaded and every oil well was left burning, many thought it would take decades to get back to a stable economy. Well, all the experts were wrong, and with Iraq it is a far more complicated puzzle to put together than Kuwait was.

We have all learned more than we probably ever thought we would learn involving the middle east region, so most here know how complicated it is to put Iraq back together again, and for good reason, it was never a whole puzzle and many pieces have been missing for decades. Of course, this really goes back in time, but when you see the whole picture, you will know why it is impossible to predict when the final piece is found, never mind put in place.

What we all have to understand is we are on a journey, and with many such journies, have the fun is getting there. We are close to the end of our first journey, but there will be plenty more to enjoy, so my advice is not to get to hung up on initial end of journey for there is far more ahead of us all. I am still hearing the same as I heard last year, and that is it will happen this year, and that was hard to believe over a year ago, but look how far we have come? It has been an amazing journey, and as frustrating as it is for some, remember, no one, I mean no one espected that we would be this far along as we now are. All the experts said it would take a decade to reach a point of revalue, yet they were all wrong as we all see we are now close, very close.

Simply put, don't let it get you down if it is not this Sunday, or next, or next month, it WILL HAPPEN, and this is all that matters. Enjoy the journey, the new friends, the dreams that will come true, the financial freedom which we will all soon be enjoying, and best of all, to be able to once again say to many of the so called experts and all the many naysayers, I TOLD YOU SO. LOL Hang in there, our first destination is around the corner, then we plan for our next journey, so enjoy it all.

    Good luck to all, Mike

Iraq to hike oil output to four million bpd -- official
Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) - 14/09/2006
Iraq is seeking to hike its oil productivity to more than four million barrels per day by 2010, Iraqi Oil Minister Hussein Al-Sharastani said on Thursday.

In an interview with KUNA on sidelines of the international energy seminar, that concluded late on Wednesday, the minister added that Iraq also aspires to be among the top oil producers and seeks to hike the crude output to six million bpd, following development of oil fields, exploring new ones, upgrading the oil sector and building new refineries.

Iraq has the second largest strategic reserve of the oil and gas in the world in general and the Middle East in particular.

But Sharastani acknowledged that continuing violence and extensive damage, inflicted in this vital sector, as a result of a series of war and failure to upgrade the installations constitute some of the major hurdles in the face of schemes to expand and enhance this sector.

Production has been raised from 1.5 million bpd to 2.2-2.3 million bpd, he confirmed, alluding to relentless work by the relevant authorities to develop this field.

Renovation of the oil installations and the development of the fields has been accomplished with national cadres.

He denied internal feuding for control over the oil installations and affirmed that Baghdad has no problem with Kuwait or any other neighboring state concerning the oil output.

Source: Iraq to start pay debts to Romania in 2009

    MENAFN - 14/09/2006

(MENAFN) The Iraqi Ministry of Finance announced that the state will start pay its debts to Romania beginning in 2009, Bucharest Daily News reported.

Iraq will gradually pay the $977.1 million owed to Romania over a 20 year period, representing debts it had made before 1989.

Romania's trade with the Iraqi regime was substantial, due to the Romanian communist regime's ties with the Middle East and especially with Iraqi former president.

Many Romanian companies had traded with or made construction works in Iraq but the 1989 revolution in Romania and the Gulf War made debt restitution difficult, if not impossible.

The nearly $1 billion Romania will cash until 2028 accounts for 56.7 percent of the 1.723 billion dollars Iraq owed Romania for trade before 1989.
