We Are Close!!!
Diwaniya’s streets near empty as fuel shortage worsens
Diwaniya, July 17, (VOI) – Streets of Diwaniya province were near empty of vehicles on Monday amid a severe fuel shortage with supplies completely cut off.
Most fuel stations closed downs as gasoline supplies to the province stopped, said Sheikh Ghanem Abed, member of the energy committee at Diwaniya provincial council.
“The reason behind the current crisis is that gasoline supplies to the province stopped completely for two running days, forcing us to close most of the fuel stations,” Abed told the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI).
Gasoline prices in the black market tripled to 1,500 dinars per liter.
Security was tightened at the few fuel stations still working to head off possible clashes, a security source said.

Comments On This Weekends And This Mornings Posts
To start with, I recognize that there are a number of new ones here at RolClub and I, as well as I'm sure all of you, welcome them all. However, it seems that there are some who are a bit frustrated with having to catch the new members up to speed regarding what may have already been discussed at length. Personally, I don't mind when issues or questions arise that have already been covered because, I see it as a new opportunity to refresh my mind with the answers and especially when those answers soundly refute negative comments or questions.
Concerns have been posted this weekend that our anticipated revalue may not happen as soon as we hope and there has been some criticism toward those that have suggested possible dates as early as before the end of July.
My view is this, I appreciate it when anyone post what they may hear from a particular source they have and if they have heard a specific date, it's good to have that information passed along to all of us here. I think it's each persons individual responsibility to evaluate what they read here and decide for themselves how credible they think the informtion is based on its source and common sence and good logic.
The idea that there could be a possible reprint of the new currency or that there could be a lopping of zeros off the new currency and all the controversies that arise from these ideas keeps rearing its ugly head and I for one don't mind but, unless I've missed something, so far no body has shown how anything other than a straight revalue of the Iraqi dinar could possibly bode well for anyone concerned. The Iraq government has much at stake here as well as the US government, not to mention the entire region of the middle east and really, the whole world. So, in my mind, with so much at stake for everyone, what ever finally happens, it must be good for Iraq, the Iraqi people and the United States to say the least.
Regarding the news articals that have been translated into english, for my mon ey they are about worthless becasue as I read them, they make little if any sence. If we are going to have an artical translated we need for it to be translated so that it reads well, is understandable and we're not getting that.
As for timing of the revalue, who can really know for sure? I hope with all that I am that it is sooner rather than later but I fear it could be later even though it certainly appears that it could happen today, but I'm just afraid that it might not. I will say this, no matter if we get the revalue today, this month, this year or next we must not lose hope or become discouraged because it will happen, it must or Iraq and its people are going to suffer badly.
I've seen through my reading of history that things can happen most unexpectedly and very quickly. There is no way to be certain about what will happen but the positives certainly dominate over the negatives. There is every legitimate reason to have confidence that this investment will do very well but no matter how good the prospects look, history has shown that that is no guaranty.
I for one need this revalue to happen now, almost desperately so so, I am very hopeful, I have to be. Garthstar mentioned that positive thinking could prevail here if we all put our minds to it and I think there is some truth in that.
Just my thoughts on what I've read in the post lately.

Guys, I had an email from Bruce just informing me to remind his customers that some notes look very similar with the Arabic numbers 2 and 3. Please don't question them, everything is fine. :0)
Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.
Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.
