Morning tiffany, I think that who ever has gotten ahold of these coins first are just trying to unload them as the first ones as collectables. I saw their 50nid for .69 and then saw their hit counter of 18. There has been dealers on the ebay for quit some time.

I have purchased some dinars from a dealer on Ebay...that's what got me snooping around at 2:30 am...couldn't sleep...thought I'd check out what's selling...

But I have never seen these coins before on auctions...Thought it may be a piece or two of our "puzzle"...or don't these "pieces" belong in this "box"? ( I HATE it when that happens... lol! )

An Iraqi's view...
Dear fellow Dinar investors,

Our Iraqi contact and partner is now in town. I have had a chance to sit down and finally pick his brain (in person) at length.

He has told us that things in Iraq are very bad right now. One of the demands of the Sunni’s is that several of the ministers be kicked out of parliament. He said that Maliki is considering this, and that one of those ministers is the Minister of Finance. He said that the reason the Sunnis are upset at these ministers is because many were put into these positions not for their expertise, but because of who they knew.

In regards to the MSNBC/Reuters article, he said, “Yes, Bayan Jabor did make that recommendation, but I don’t believe it would happen”. He went on to say that he doesn’t believe that Iraq is going to print new currency, but that there is more to be distributed. He said that he is not sure of exactly what notes are left, but he said that there are more coins, possibly 1 Dinar, ½ Dinar, and ¼ Dinar (1000 fils, 500 fils, 250 fils).

He also said that if the United States Government has any say in the matter, the Dinar will open at .67 to 1 with the dollar with NO ZERO LOPPING. He said that he knows for sure that the US Government has a lot of Dinar.

I mentioned the possibility that the MOF made this statement to stop any more movement of Dinar out of Iraq and he smiled and said that this is one possibility.

We also discussed the “What if” scenario. And that being what if they DID zero lop from the bills, would there be time to switch out the current Dinar for new? He said that if it did happen more than likely Iraq would run with both currencies and when the banks came across the old Dinar (with zeros) they would just pull it from circulation. He said that several other countries that have lopped from the bills have done this. But he said that those other countries have had many more zeros on their bills and that their currency was worth even less.

Many on this board have wondered if the Dr is credible. I can only tell you this; if you could sit down with him and talk to him (in person) you would feel much more comfortable about the Dinar and Iraq. I know I do.

I know it’s not much more than just another opinion (and that of a Dinar dealer), but I thought I would share it with you.
