To my understanding cbi has been trying to get back all the dinars they can,
So in that case I don't see them having many more auctions like this one, where their putting out more than their taking in. This would only undo everytning they've been trying to do.

Susie found an article yesterday that was interesting. Says to me a reval will occur before 2007 to support their new budget, ie a reval before the end of the year. There are no more handouts from the US and other countries, so they have to fund their own reconstruction etc. Can they do this at 1431? Yea right........

Hey, why so gloomy this morning? I know it didn't reval today, but look at the bright side. The price of the dinar to the dollar came down another two points from 1435 to 1433 and another $6,000,000 worth of dinar (8,598,000,000) came out of circulation with only 3 banks participating. That puts our grand total of dinars withdrawn from circulation as of the 18th auction at: 1,070,366,850,000.
This is all good news. All the numbers are still going in our favor. How much longer? Only the CBI knows this. We have to remember we're all just along for the ride. It will happen, and in the not to distant future. In the mean time this gives us a little more time to pick up some more dinars!! Right !!

Exactly, didn't even think about it this morning, lol. We know it will happen folks, enjoy the last few weeks of this ride. I'm still of the opinion before the 15th.

It's a little after 2 PM in Iraq, FIL is announced, Auction to start soon and no real movement on CBI site as to exchange. Am I missing somthing here? I've looked at all my Arab world news sites, and nothing? Can anyone explain this to me?

Wasn't someone saying that we would have to wait until the Forex opens, and usually the new currencies on the market are listed at noon? Or 4 pm? ...Or something like that?

I don't think that CBI would list anything different until the Forex will be up with the announcement....

Any other opinions on this?

Thats what I'm confused about. Thought they would announce ahead of the Forex. As a trader, would you not need to know the value of a stock before you bid on it? ie: old dinar rate vs. new? I dont know, its 4:30am and maybe I just should call it a night.

And isn't it true that sometimes CBI has more than one auction per day?

Or I am wrong...I thought I read that somewhere here on the forum...

The only thing that's bugging me is - after all the dicussions on wether the FIL is active now or not - that we don't know if IT IS ACTIVE. Cause if it is, I would assume that today is the day to watch for more coming stuff from CBI...

...by the way, I tried to find Article 830 in Constitution....there is no such article...as it says in the FIL:
