No rate change since monday .. so they had the site down all week since we know there wont be another auction until tommrow 5am EST theres no need to jump the gun until then. all we can do is wait.. but since its the same rate since monday we can now confirm that it was indeed the old rate everyone that was buying is being quoted ..

We have to remember that the Bank of Baghdad didn't update this week either. There wasn't an auction since Monday IMO. Something is still going on.

I was just wondering if anyone in the past has contacted the cbi from the email on the website and if so did they receive a response?

I agree, they could be just testing the site with the old Info to ensure its working before uploading the new info. Pyberoptik, doe's this make any sense to you?

Given the CBI’s commitment to maintaining what has become a de facto peg, and the apparent resort to foreign-exchange “rationing” (under other guises) in some instances in the CBI’s daily currency auctions, the average official rate had not fluctuated much below NID1,475:US$1 since the third quarter of 2005. The Central Bank appears reluctant to use its large accumulated gross foreign-exchange reserves (of an estimated US$9.1bn at end-2005) to satisfy dollar demand, and has not been minded to raise local-currency interest rates sufficiently to attempt to stem the pressure on the dinar. In the present security situation, we expect pressure on the currency to remain high. Nevertheless, CBI intervention should maintain a relatively stable rate of around NID1,470:US$1 in 2006-07.

I can only hope their thinking has changed with the inflation and pressure from other countries.
