Hi Ya'll! After watching and reading for several weeks, I thought it was time for me to post. I am in Texas, like alot of fokes here, and I went to 3 different banks yesterday to check out buying Dinar. Compass Bank said that they would order them for me and when they came in (in about 2 days) Compass would debit my account. Now that's a scarey thought! I don't know about you, but if the R/V happens while my dinar is in transit, I don't keep an extra million or 2 in my account to cover the cost!

So, I went to 2 different Chase banks, one on I10 and one in Tomball. They both told me the same thing...they would order, takes one day to get, pay up front, cost is $767.00/million. Cash or checks only.

Anyway, it's great to be on this ride with you! Thanks for having me!

I say, “Yes, my customer says it’s been down for three days.” Then I ask, “Have you ever seen anything like this before?”

She replies, “Three days, Huh, . . . No, . . . well, only once but . . . that was when a major change in value was in the works.” Then she shut up.

Did you ask "who" ever had a major change? That was the first question that popped into my head when I read the post.

Sorry RR, I really don't think that this woman knew what she was talking about as bank of America bases it's rate on the retail FX market and not what a Central Bank website states. LOL
Here is the contact for the BOA foriegn exchange and they could explain it a little better for those who are interested.

Bank of America | Please Select Your State

Very simply task for anyone interested, call BOA 1.888.660.0130 and tell them you want to buy some YEN, EURO, Kuwait Dinar, or any currency other then ID. When they come back with the rate ask them if they just got that rate directly from the website of that countries central bank.
That's probably true in general, but NID is a special case in a transition period. BoA is exchanging dinar, but the only accurate place to get the exchange rate for it is the CBI until it is officially released to the foreign exchange markets.

    Interesting,

Thanks for update on Compass, they were one of the first to provide dinar in U.S. but then stopped, so it is nice to know they are a player again. It would be nice to have everyone post which banks they have confirmed ordering and receiving dinars from so we can be up to date.

    Good luck to all, Mike

The CBI is the only place in the world you can get an accurate rate quote. The FX has nothing to do with the dinar ,(until next week ), as has been posted many times by people on the forums that have probably called every ForEx broker listed.

Don't quite know what to make of this. Chase bank is still selling, I'm going over this morn to buy more. I called yeserday and they said they are still selling, had just sold some the day before. No change in their selling rate either.

Sure hope the officer at BofA wasn't having a little fun with us. Very doubtful. I truly don't believe that RR would pull such a trick either.

Maybe the officer was caught off guard and said a little more than is allowed. And maybe just maybe something was lost in the exchanging of info and she was going about it like Brain says they do. Stranger things do happen.

For excitement's sake, I'm gonna believe that RR's post is correct and that the officer he spoke with is knowledgeable enough.

I LIKE BEING EXCITED! I don't even get down when it doesn't pan out. I'm pretty much on an even keel of excitement!

White House denies report it is preparing a "course correction" in Iraq

WASHINGTON, Oct. 19 (KUNA) -- White House spokesman Tony Snow on Thursday rebutted a front-page story in today's Washington Times which said the Bush administration is preparing for a "course correction" in Iraq.

"That is a bunch of hooey (nonsense)," Snow said, commenting on the story in the politically conservative newspaper which generally is supportive of the Bush White House. "I mean, it seems to be a collection of actually old hooey brought into a piece of new hooey." Sources for the story "did not come from the White House," Snow said during a White House briefing. Citing leaks from the Iraq Survey Group, a bipartisan commission headed by former Secretary of State James Baker that plans to make recommendations on U.

    S. policy in Iraq after the U.S. congressional elections on Nov. 7, the Times said the option cited most frequently includes the partition of Iraq into three ethnic regions, as well as a phased withdrawal of U.S. troops with some remaining in neighboring countries to deal with major threats.

Snow said the idea of partitioning Iraq was a "non-starter" that had already been considered, and that there would be no phased withdrawal, either.

"No, you withdraw when you win," Snow said.

Another approach recently reported by CBS News from a source on the Baker panel was that the commission may recommend a plan under which 5 percent of U.

    S. troops are pulled out of Iraq every two months.

This so-called "5 percent solution" is also a "non-starter," Snow said.

The Times article also said a scenario being discussed and taken seriously in Iraq is one in which the U.S.-trained Iraqi army would overthrow the struggling government of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and replace him with a strongman who would restore order while Washington looks the other way.

The most important thing is to have trained Iraqi troops who are able to accomplish the mission in Iraq, "but that is taking time, and we are working on it," Snow said. " ... We will continue to make adjustments as necessary to pursue victory," Snow said. "But the one thing that nobody should have any doubt about is that we are going to win." From the standpoint of the U.S. government and the Bush administration, "we are going to continue pursuing victory (in Iraq) aggressively," Snow said. (end) rm.
    Now that's good news!

I wish we could verify the smaller denoms being moved around. That would be paramount to an imminent r/v......
Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.
