AmCham-Iraq to host hydrocarbon laws summits

The American Chamber of Commerce of Iraq (AmCham-Iraq) has announced plans for industry-government summits on the proposed hydrocarbon laws (oil and gas laws) of Iraq and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to take place in Amman, Jordan and Erbil, Iraq during the fourth quarter of 2006.

These events - the first of their kind - are designed to further the dialogue between global and regional oil companies interested in participating in the development of the Iraqi upstream and downstream oil sectors and officials of the governments of the Iraq and the Kurdistan Regional Government who are taking the lead in developing and enacting the hydrocarbon laws that will control outside investment and development in Iraq's massive oil sector, said a spokesman.

These events are being organised by AmCham-Iraq with the assistance of the Iraq Development Programme (IDP). IDP is a member of AmCham-Iraq and a leader in organising Iraq development summits at which industry and government officials have opportunities to confer face-to-face.

With the new hydrocarbon laws of Iraq now being prepared and considered, these planned AmCham-Iraq summits in Amman and Erbil provide a unique and timely opportunity for senior industry leaders worldwide to voice views of what is desired and needed in the upstream and downstream laws.

Initially in Amman, details of this process will be explained and leading oil and gas executives will have the opportunity to comment on the forthcoming legislation.

Feedback will be filtered through AmCham Iraq and presented to the legislative decision making authorities in Iraq.

Under AmCham-Iraq planning, the high-level summit in Amman will be followed by a two-day summit in Erbil with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG). Here there will be an opportunity to obtain the latest information on the KRG proposed hydrocarbon law and to engage in private one-on-one meetings with KRG senior decision makers.

Just what is included in the state of emergency? Are we talking ration cards or what? Just trying to figure out if this is something to get excited about.

Nothing to get excited about...state of emergency has been in force for over 2 years now...no big deal.

Baghdad Governorate Council voted to develop hand freedom
Council held a meeting under the chairmanship of the Baghdad governorate certain Sadir during which the vote on the introduction of hand freedom they contain a large number of the population and need for services.
A statement issued by the Council that the area of freedom belonging to the city of Karbala, The Council will address maintaining the cabinet for approval.
The statement added that the Council was to be the Nahrawan hand of an independent cities in the vast area and large population, in addition to the formation of a committee to maintain discipline particularly's accounting negligence of the members of municipal councils.

he state of emergency has been renewed every month since first being authorized in November 2004.

It grants security forces greater powers and affects the entire country apart from the autonomous Kurdish region in the north.

The measure allows for a nighttime curfew and gives the government extra powers to make arrests without warrants and carry out police and military operations.

Hey All

It is these articles that I find solitude in about this investment. Your right on Mike. 10 million dinar at the midrange rate right now would be about $10,000 USD and that would get you a basketball court and some goals and benches and that is it. Of course that does not come with the arena...lol or "arena's" as plurality is used here.
