I thought this was an appropriate addition to our discussion. Boys, pay attention!!

A husband had just finished reading a new book entitled,

"YOU CAN BE THE MAN OF YOUR HOUSE"

He stormed into the kitchen and announced to his wife:

"From now on, you need to know that I am the man of this house and
my word is Law. You will prepare me a gourmet meal tonight, and when
I'm finished eating my meal, you will serve me a sumptuous dessert.

After dinner, you are going to go upstairs with me and we will have
the kind of sex that I want. Afterwards, you are going to draw me a
bath so I can relax. You will wash my back and towel me dry and
bring me my robe. Then, you will massage my feet and hands! . Then
tomorrow, guess who's going to dress me and comb my hair?"

The wife replied, "The funeral director would be my first
    guess."

The last of 5 kids moves out this weekend and we will be alone for the first time in 11 years. Yes there have been some rough patches. There always is, with a combined family. But rest assured, it will all be worth it. If you are truly best friends, keep the focus on your relationship and what ya'll have to look forward to. You always come out stronger on the other side.
Those dern kids won't be there in 20 years wiping drool from your chin, your spouse will. There will be sacrafices that have to be made, grin and bear it! There are rewards. When you ask your spouse to do something, always, try to turn the situation around and ask yourself if you would do the same for them. Whether it has to do with the kids or finances or whatever. COMPROMISE! TALK! HONESTY! Can't live without them!

Good luck to you both! It will be wonderful!!

I just wanted to say thank ya'll for all your kind and encouraging (and yes, funny too) words for the two of us, I didn't quote everyone on this post who needs to be quoted, but to everyone, thank you. I look forward to being the man that Sarah has deserved all of her life.
