That is because its not suppose to feel that way. We did not start a new war thread here. All we do now is to understand why things went wrong. If member think that these names are attached to the story, then i will not edit it... We are not kids here, so i am sure people in the center would not mind listening to other members real views...

Both sides present their views here. I suggest that you all keep calm, with an open mind and present your views in a continues respectable manner with some sort of soloution to it all.

And by the way, i dont know what sgs and mrsCK will think. I am just letting members post what went wrong... And for sure will not stop this to i get this solved in the long run.

Whoever your quoting to here, has to understand more then that.. Its members views, maybe he she is willing to listen to the majority and come to some sort of intelligent solution to it all, instead of any sudden outbrusts... I hope for the best.. For me there are 2 kinds of rumors: real and made up. Real rumors are something you really heard from somebody/told by somebody that is backed up by info such as who/where the rumor came from and other details. Made up rumors are something made up that is totally false, and made up to achieve a certain purpose. I think there's alot of the latter propagating in the forums. Something to raise an eyebrow is how many rumors can a person generate. Shoot, I've been in this thing for years and know people in the right positions but I haven't even come across a rumor from these folks, nor have I even started a rumor. I'm quite sure there are other folks on this train that have been in for years that have not come across a rumor of their own. I've mostly speculated based on research. But does it make you wonder how some folks always seem to have rumors? That alone should raise an eyebrow. But hey, it's in the rumor section, so doom on you if you made decisions based on rumors. Lastly, even if I got wind of something coming from people I know, the last thing I want to do is post it in the forums.

You brought it up. members sent me the PMs quoting their names in the post they made.And i posted them here, i presume that how. I sure hope and think the best about people, and presume that they will not EXPLODE, and rather try to help solve this war that has been going on this forum for very long... There is truly no other option to it. Either it will be stopped with force, or all sides will have to agree to it willingly and come to some sort of conclusion that suits them all.

Please go back to first page and do some reading. AND STOP the who, why, and how.. Its all here for you to see as anyone else.

DO NOT TAKE SIDES. TO MAKE THIS PERFECTLY CLEAR. This is not the thread for that.. The aim of this thread is totally different. I suggest you kindly refrain from mixing any more of that into this thread...

Keep an open mind, come with your view, let people post their views, and find a solution that fits all. That is what all should be thinking now..

A couple of points.

We can't start this discussion with the above statement, which is nonsensical. By definition a rumor is hearsay and unconfirmed. So a rumor can never be proven, and it is absurd to ask for proof of a rumor. This is a fact by definition, and endless arguments to the contrary will not change Websters definition to fit ones personal idea of what the word rumor should mean! I'm totally in agreement with caesarboxer with regard to his similar assertions in this thread.

So the reality is that some people like rumors and some do not. It's incumbent upon each individual to make their own choice of whether to read a post.

So how does the forum deal with this:

1. Eliminate the rumor section- I'd personally hate to see this happen.
2. Enforce strict rules regarding the rumor section

Assuming that the rumor section remains, what could those rules be to eliminate the tense discourse on the forum? Here are a few ideas.

1. No personal attacks. This is supposedly a rule, but rarely strictly enforced. Personal attacks should not be allowed. Personal attacks should result in, at the admins discretion, a single warning, but otherwise should result in banning the user permanently. No reinstatement gone! Everyone treated the same. I don't care if the user has 3 gazillion posts, personal attacks are the root of the problem. This should apply to all threads, and not just the rumor thread. My guess is that strict enforcement of this one rule would eventually stop the problem. Good riddance to the banned.
2. You can only contradict a rumor in the same thread if you have proof that the poster is lying. If you cannot prove that the poster is lying, the rumor is a valid rumor regardless of its eventual course.
3. Asking for clarification of a rumor is acceptable. Asking a poster to verify their rumor is impossible and not acceptable.
4. Feel free to post information that you've heard as a rumor from another source that adds potential validity to the rumor.
5. Start a new thread if you have heard a contradictory rumor.

if you read my posts in this thread. I try to keep an open mind for all. I did not say i will take away the rumor section, did i? Then what is this " BUT MAYBE THIS IS WHAT YOU WANT?" Didn't you just say that you were considering closing the rumor threads?

I suggest you go and take a cold shower mate.. and then come back to present your views without the "pre-juged part" maybe this is what you want.. and also go back a few posts and see for yourself that i didn't make any conclusions at all.

Mate could i call up on your best jugdment now and try to help our membership have this war stopped somehow? Could you perhaps post your real view of what started this all,and also offer some sort of solution that the majority can deal with?

I think that you are probably right about some people making up rumors, but how do we know if someone really heard it or made it up. If you start attacking rumors because they might be made up, the sincere rumors get attacked as well. The best route is just to not attack them, which does not mean that you have to support them.
