Thanks for that answer Raditz, I can assume then it would be absolutely stupid of them if they dont revalue before this happens, we have discussed on many occasions that if they dont everyone of us could buy as many shares as we wish for peanuts.

Well, that is my opinion aswell, and probably most of us in here think the same.
But we have learned by now that this is Iraq and april/may, can be august/september. But it still feels that we are closer then ever and i dont think we have to wait much longer!

قال قائمقام مركز محافظة السليمانية إن قرار الحكومة المركزية في بغداد برفع أسعار المشتقات النفطية سيبدأ العمل به في المحافظة إعتباراً من اليوم الإثنين .

وأشار صالح إلى أنه تم "إقتطاع كميات كبيرة من حصة المؤسسات الحزبية و الحكومية من المحروقات في المحافظة ليتم توزيعها على المواطنين ،كخطوة أولى للحد من أزمة الوقود في السليمانية."

He pointed out that the "large amounts deducted from the share of partisan and governmental institutions of fuels in the province to be distributed to citizens, as a first step to reduce the fuel crisis in Sulaymaniyah."

وكان قراراً حكوميا قد صدر قبل إسبوعين برفع أسعار المشتقات النفطية التي توزعها المحطات الحكومية في كافة محافظات العراق ،وأعلنت وزارة النفط يوم الجمعة الماضية عن بدء تطبيق القرار .

The government decree had been issued two weeks ago to raise the prices of oil derivatives distributed by government stations in all the governorates of Iraq, the Oil Ministry announced last Friday, the start of the implementation of the resolution.

وقال الناطق الرسمي لوزارة النفط عاصم جهاد ( الجمعة) إن الوزارة قررت تطبيق الزيادة في أسعار المشتقات النفطية "وفقا لرغبة البنك الدولي لإسقاط النسبة المتبقية من ديون العراق."

He said the official spokesman of the Ministry of Oil Assem Jihad (Friday) that the ministry had decided to apply the increase in the prices of oil derivatives, "according to the desire of the World Bank to drop the remainder of the debt of Iraq."

وأوضح لـ ( أصوات العراق) أن الزيادة "جاءت بعد اللقاء الأخير بين الوفد العراقي ، برئاسة وزير النفط حسين الشهرستاني ،المتفاوض مع البنك الدولي حول خفض ديون العراق."

He told (Voices of Iraq) that the increase "came after the recent meeting between the Iraqi delegation, headed by the Minister of Oil Hussein Shahrastani, negotiated with the World Bank on Iraq debt reduction."

وزير المالية يلتقي السفير الأمريكي في بغداد ويبحثان انعكاس نتائج خطة فرض القانون على الوضع الاقتصادي في العراق

The Finance Minister will meet with the American ambassador in Baghdad, looking for the outcome of the plan to impose the law on the economic situation in Iraq

التقى وزير المالية السيد باقر جبر الزبيدي مع سفير الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية في بغداد السيد دان سبكرت.

He met with the Minister of Finance, Mr. Baqir Jabr Al-Zubaydi with the Ambassador of the United States of America in Baghdad, Mr. Dan Spkrt.

حيث تم استعراض العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين وانعكاس خطة فرض القانون على الوضع الاقتصادي في العراق ورفع مستوى الخدمات المقدمة للمواطنين.

A review of bilateral relations between the two countries and the prospective plan to impose the law on the economic situation in Iraq and improve the level of services offered to citizens.

واكد الوزير خلال استعراضه جهود الوزارة في تهيئة موازنة عام 2007 والمتابعة المستمرة مع الوزارات والمحافظات من اجل سرعة تنفيذ المشاريع، إن هذه الموازنة تعتبر أول موازنة تخطيطية للأعوام القادمة والتي ستضع حجر الأساس لإنشاء المشاريع الستراتيجية التي تعكس الوجه الحضاري للعراق الجديد مبيناً إن اعتماد قانون النفط والغاز الذي يشير إلى إن هذه الثروة هي ملك للشعب العراقي، مشيراً الى المؤتمر الموسع الذي عقد بحضور نائب رئيس الوزراء د.

The minister said during the review of the Ministry's efforts to create a budget in 2007 and ongoing follow-up with ministries and governorates in order to speed up the implementation of projects, that this budget is the first budget planning for the coming years and that will put the foundation stone for the establishment of projects that reflect the strategic outlook civilized face of the new Iraq, pointing out that the adoption of the oil and gas indicates that this wealth belongs to the Iraqi people, pointing out that the extensive presence of the Deputy Prime Minister Dr.

كما تطرق الى لقاء السيد رئيس الوزراء مع السادة المحافظين وعدد من السادة الوزراء للوقوف على إجراءاتهم في مجال تنفيذ المشاريع.

They also expected to meet with Prime Minister Messrs. governors and a number of the Ministers to examine their actions in the implementation of projects.

من جانبه أشاد السفير بجهود الوزير في تهيئة الموازنة وتمنى له الموفقية والنجاح لخدمة العراق الديمقراطي الجديد.

For his part, Ambassador praised the efforts of the minister in creating the budget and wished him success Shinafiyah and Muwaffaqiyah to serve new democratic Iraq.

Pessimism 'growing among Iraqis'

Iraqis have become less optimistic about their future, the poll suggests

A new survey paints a pessimistic picture of Iraqis' confidence in their own government and in coalition forces. Only 18% of Iraqis have confidence in US and coalition troops, while opinion is almost evenly split on whether to have confidence in Iraq's government.
About 86% of those questioned expressed concern about someone in their household being a victim of violence.
More than 2,000 people were questioned. The poll was commissioned by the BBC, ABC News, ARD German TV and USA Today.
The survey was conducted by D3 Systems.
The latest findings contrast strongly with the outlook among Iraqis in 2005, when respondents to a similar survey were generally hopeful about the future.
Asked whether they thought reconstruction efforts in Iraq had been effective, some 67% said they felt they had not.
Religious divide
The poll paints a picture of an increasingly polarised Iraq, with acutely diverging views between Sunnis and Shias - Sunnis appearing more pessimistic.
Pessimism is most keenly felt across central Iraq, including Baghdad, where Sunnis are most numerous.

Religious differences are particularly displayed in attitudes towards the execution of Saddam Hussein.
Sunnis questioned largely regarded the manner of the former Iraqi leader's death as inappropriate and unlikely to help the cause of reconciliation; Shias predominantly took the opposite view.

UN, US hold ICI conference to stabilize Iraq

MENAFN) Iraq Directory reported that UN and US held the International Compact with Iraq (ICI) conference in the US jointly with the World Bank as a part of rallying the efforts needed to help Iraq in all domains thus lead it to prosperity.

Ninety countries, among which Iran and Syria, attended the conference to track Iraq's progress in implementing political and economic reconstructions, and discuss the key role of the countries surrounding Iraq in contributing to the country's development, a senior Iraqi official at the conference stated.

Moreover, the conference aimed to pave the way for foreign investors to invest in Iraq's oil, agriculture and reconstruction sectors, and urge the countries to ease Iraq's debt burden in order to provide it with the chance to flourish and improve, he pointed out.

To that end, Iraq is preparing a plan to make it easier for outside investments to work in Iraq in order to rectify its economic body.
