I suspect you are correct. If a person had the cash and did a little digging, you could probably buy 100M dinars. A billion? somehow I have a hard time at this point in time as seeing this as possible. Then again its JMHO.

There are millions of people that have access to 1 million USD! Which could buy over 1 billion dinars!

A large decrease in the demand for the dollar

Baghdad - (Voices of Iraq)
Decreased demand for dollar in an auction today, Wednesday, the Central Bank is very high, recording 33 million and 45 thousand dollars, compared with 60 million and 195 thousand dollars on Tuesday night.

The daily bulletin issued by the Central Bank, and received news agency (Voices of Iraq) independent copy of today, that the purchase orders were distributed at seven million and 795 thousand dollars in cash and 25 million and 250 thousand dollars in the form of remittances outside the country and the bank has full coverage at the exchange rate low for the third day in a respectively of 1273 dinars, down one dinar exchange rate of 1274 dinars yesterday.

It added that he did not submit any of the 11 banks participating in the auction, offers to sell the dollar to auction.

He said Mr. Ali Yasiri, one dealing with the auction told (the voices of Iraq) said the decline in demand was expected with the return of price policy for landing irregularly, which raises the concern of the state Alassirvein to buy large amounts of more than the daily need of circulation for fear of the price decline that the market decline more of the bank in the event of the reported decline in the exchange rate.

I was not questioning that few people had access to that kind of cash, but the ability at this time to buy that kind of numbers in dinars. I feel that dinar availability is drying up. Sorry if you mis-understood me, as I still feel your right.
