Iraqi Investments
Great news,
Finally they are moving forward on one of the most important issues remaining. Now that is looks like it is weeks away, with perhaps a hundred being terminated, this is the best news yet. With so many insiders feeding the recent violence, this has got to put a huge dent in terrorist activity now that they are no longer protected by the very same government who is suppose to be supporting peace.
Good luck to all, Mike

The Iraqi-American meeting was concluded in the city of Irbil, and it was attended by Iraqi and American businessmen who discussed over two days a number of recommendations to be presented to the Iraqi and American governments, particularly with regard to the establishment of joint projects and exchange of expertise; in addition to the investment in different regions of Iraq . Dr. Abdul Falah Hassan Assudani said, at the beginning of the meeting, that the Iraqi government wishes to increase the volume of trade exchange with the United States and benefit from the accumulated American economic experience, in addition to the possibility of the participation of American companies and businessmen alongside Iraqi ones to invest in the country's safe areas which are politically stable.
He added that the Iraqi government provided the security and legal environment which allows all international companies to invest in the different regions of Iraq after the issuance of the new Investment Law. On his side, Levin Frank, undersecretary of the American Ministry of Trade, confirmed the United States appreciation to the initiatives of those working in the Iraqi economy and the Iraqi government for taking the new measures of opening up to the market and leaving the old ones which restricted Iraqi economy and made it fall behind.
Levin added that Business Dialogue provides the opportunity for the Iraqi and American businessmen to exchange experiences and agree on joint recommendations that serve their common work as well as provides them with new flexible mechanisms that serve both countries' economy. The Minister of Housing and Construction, Bayan Dizah Yi, had explained the works implemented by her Ministry to build housing complexes and Iraq's need for two million and half residential units in addition to building the infrastructure of the Ministry's projects which had been destroyed by military operations and thefts.

and i trust admin over there too.
look, we know exactly what would happen if they only had it at that rate until the end of the year, they would lose massive amounts of revenue, and they gotta start paying their debt off pretty soon. they need to improve alot of stuff before they have enough assets to be comfortable enough to get all those debts paid. only way they will improve it is to improve the economy, and all you know the way to do that isnt at 1100 to 1. no way.
besides, the kurds wont have it and we all know what happens when they want something and it doesnt get done.
(hey wait, if im not mistaken i remember the same thing happening back in the fall and someone posting an email from him saying those same words. well he was a little off with the rate of the end of last year but then again there were delays we all know about.)Last edited by shotgunsusie; 04-03-2007 at 01:34 AM.
