UBS began coverage of a dozen specialty-pharmaceutical firms, hanging a buy rating on Teva with a $52 target price.

(AZM) - buy
A.M. Best Co. has affirmed the financial strength rating (FSR) of 'A+' (Superior) and the issuer credit rating (ICR) of "aa" of Germany's Allianz Societas Europaea (Allianz SE) and its main subsidiaries. The outlook for all of the ratings is stable.

(NFJ) - short
NFJ Dividend, Interest, & Premium Strategy Fund, Reduced its dividend from prior periods in an effort to better align the Fund's current dividend rate with the earnings of the Fund's investments.

(MDT) - short
Medtronic, says wires may have had role in 13 deaths.

(PPL) - short
PPL Corp, sees FY09 EPS of $1.60 vs $1.81 First Call consensus. Co also said it sees FY10 EPS of $3.60 vs $3.70 First Call consensus well below what the Street was looking for.

Trading activity was generally listless during the session today. At the closing bell, major U.S. indices closed the trading session mixed. Talk on the street today revolved around the bonuses AIG is planning to pay ****utives who were responsible for the fall of the insurer. President Obama has ordered the Treasury Department to do whatever needs to be done, to stop the action.

Better than expected housing starts data, led the way for the markets to move into positive territory. Trading action was generally dull during the afternoon trading session. Adobe Systems Inc, said its fiscal first-quarter net income fell to $156.4 mln, or 30 cents a share, from $219.4 mln, or 39 cents a share, in the same period a year earlier.

(GES) - short
Guess Inc, reported net income of $47.9 mln, or 52 cents a share, down from $55.2 mln, or 59 cents, a year ago.

(AGN) - short
A French challenger to the wrinkle treatment Botox, made by Allergan, has been approved for sale in the U.K. Ipsen Chief ****utive Jean-Luc Belingard said he was confident Azzalure would take "a significant share" of the market from Botox.
