Thread: Heres a new rumor for all of you

I understood the articles as explaining that after the veto by the VP, the EL was sent back to Parliament to work on it again- which they did, and then they sent it back the the Presidential Council for ratification- or veto, again. And the current news is, the VP has vetoed it...again!
So it will have to go back to Parliament and they have to work on it...again. Sure, they could vote to overturn the VP's veto, but it would require a 2/3 majority to do so now. The chances of that happening is about the same as....(well, you can insert your favorite saying here.) Hence my prior post about being bummed about all this. I maintain:
No EL, No RV.
And now, with all the latest news indicating the Trade Bank's connection with Reuters and the CMX forex deal and all, it APPEARS that the IQD has now obtained- or will very soon, International Recognition- without the RV part we've been waiting for!
I bank at First National Bank. I can now exchange my dinar through them via the NY Currency Exchange, for USD! I would get the current value of course, which is unacceptable to me at this time, and it only costs $10 per 250,000 dinar for the fee. I haven't asked if I can order any but I may give them a call to find out.
The only way to tell that some country's currency has become part of the Internationally Recognized Currency Gang is to see it listed on the Forex- right? Well, looks like that is going to happen any day now regardless of all the other shenanigans going on within Iraq, according to MY understanding of the latest news. My own question now remains- what will the rate be listed at when we see the IQD listed on the Forex???

IF...this is true- THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING!....... IMHO of course.
Delete my previous post! I will anticipate the RV on Monday the 30th....or before Christmas at least!
I may be premature being excited at this point, as I would like to see additional news articles commenting on this- but it may be a start?!?!

I'm going out on a limb again...and it's interesting that it is at Thanksgiving time...again.
I am painfully aware of the rumors I helped spread 2 years ago- that ended up not coming to fruition. They were not pranks on my part, just didn't pan out. I am not submitting any WOOHOOs at this point, nor any emoticons. Anyway...
This is UNCONFIRMED RUMOR provided from another forum:

The CBI has initiated the RV today.
It has been left up to the GOI to announce it.

I have not heard of the rate yet, but earlier it was said to be a higher rate if the dinar was RV'd by Iraq today, than what the rate would be if RV'd by the IMF next Monday. If the IMF initiated the RV the rate was to be $1.49.
This all I have at the moment, it comes from another form, and I hope we can still be friends if this ends up being misinformation. I am quite sure it is not a hoax or prank from *****s but I await conformation. I will keep in touch- even if it is to apologize profusely! At this point I personally am cautiously optimistic as the sources have been right on a number of things in the recent past.

Yeah, hold the phone. Looks like I misinterpreted a vague bit of information. If need be I'll try to explain later. I was probably over excited and posted here too soon, based on some other rumors from yesterday. I will try and update when I get clarification of the Info I received- that my prior post was based upon....sorry....

Here's what happened (in a nutshell): I receive sections of what is posted from others. This morning I received an extra small section, one that did not contain the important context with the info sent to me. I in turn, misinterpreted the info, partly due to previous info received from the same guy at the same forum. I do not want to post info that comes from someone else as my own, nor do I wish to violate proper respect for others information posted expressly for members of that particular forum. Anyway...
A few days ago, the main host of another forum predicted the RV had a better than average chance to occur Friday 11-26. The prediction seemed sound to me as it was based on news articles plus Intel from his sources. The first bit of info passed on to me today was extremely brief and SEEMED to me to say something along the lines that the RV was done by CBI (Central Bank of Iraq) and to look for the GOI (Government Of Iraq) to tell the world what happened.
Later, I received a more lengthy message containing the little snippet of info I had received earlier plus a lot more, providing the true context the little snippet had been removed from.
What the guy had more accurately said was, the CBI had completed their part of the RV process and the next part of the process lay within the authority of the GOI. It was left to them to, not just announce the RV, but to actually implement the RV. It is now officially out of the hands of the CBI and in the hands of the GOI. Now everyone (on his forum) is wondering why the GOI has not pulled the trigger and RV'd the dang dinar!?!? Whoever knows the answer to that question is not talking!
Well, there you have it. I'll try not to get so excited that I pull a boner like this again- but I'm not making any promises- except to try hard not to...
I'm not out to make ROL a laughing stock among the forums. Sure wish I knew how to delete my posts, or at least edit them!

Now, MY opinion is that Maliki did not and will not announce or trigger the RV until the Election Law is signed. MY opinion (as I have 0 special contacts in high or low places...except Mike. Hey Offshore! Where are you? A little help here!) is when we see "Done Deal" announced in the news regarding the EL, in the next article we will see RV also announced- or more realistically, we will see the RV rate show up on Forex sites. Look at Seaview's posts from the past 2 weeks; seems like 7 out of 10 articles deal with the EL in some fashion. The EL is a HUGE issue- and rightly so. Did you see the articles concerned about a "vacuum" or void in the government process if the elections aren't held close to the scheduled time frame? In a way their whole democratic project is in jeopardy over this crisis. Until this is resolved- nothing else really matters! I could be wrong but time will certainly tell... C'mon Iraq- make a fool out of me!!!

I don't know which day this is supposed to be but, as far as I know, no auctions have been cancelled. CBI was closed Sunday-Tuesday due to public holiday.

Sort of an unnecessary point in light of his point #9...
Bottom line is- lots of stuff has happened in the last several days that require what we are looking for. Some say this Friday is looking good for the release. When I read that I thought to myself,
Well that gives them a couple more days to get the EL straightened out!
