Not sure on the rate but I remember spending about 300 USD, when I purchased more once home and through a buddy over there who was coming home through Kuwait he spent about 820 per million and that was just a few months later...

I only started investing in this for real about a year ago. I had spread around the Dinar I had bought over there to family and friends as like gifts and such from Iraq. It was not till last year I truely believed in this and started investing and researching... It is hard for me to remember the rates and exchanges from then, but I do remember about what I spent before I got serious about it...

I do not have good memories and prefer not to talk about it, the only person I have talked to about my time spent is my father who spent his time in Vietnam and truely understood what I had been through and things I have seen... My 8 years in the service before Iraq did not even prepare me for what I saw in the last 3 years of my service... Let's just say this: anyone with children could definetly not handle what they saw, i'll leave it there...

You have hit the nail on the head with that one my friend! I was in for 16 yrs. I got out about a year after coming back. It does not matter how smart a person is or what they might have seen on tv, there is just no way to compare it to anything else. My wife works for an organization that helps vets with their claims at VA, and she gets upset at me because I won't talk to her when I crash, or cycle as my shrink puts it.

It was not Abassador Negroponte that convinced me that this was a good idea or investment, it was all of YOU on these forums a year or so later that convinced me it was a good idea to start investing, I almost forgot about it till I did a search for some info on Iraq and stumbled upon the IIF, then I became a true investor and believer... So thanx to you all...

Not even a chance GR. When is the last time you saw a high ranking govt official actually punished for wrongdoing. Even Sandy Berger got probation and a fine the equal to about five bucks to most of us regular people. Nobody cares about that stuff. Nobody cares that top secret info is flowing from the CIA or NSA to the New York Times. If some of our officials profit from this, we will never know about it.
