I nearly invested in Ginsystem ( a Pips clone ) , but one week prior its' offices were raided. Its' forum remained upbeat ....it's just a hiccup ; our CEO is honest , open etc ; once the authorities see the set up it'll be alright ; the bosses have a track record of accountability and communation , blah , blah blah .
Soon after the site and forum went down and it was all over .

Actually the GINS forum is still up, and there is some hope of it coming back again. The last I heard the Singapore CAD was unable to prove their case against Dr. Tan. If someone has more recent information about them I would certainly like to hear it. I always liked GINS and thought that it had great potential.

lutwyche... I also nearly invested as you did but believe me I still almost regret I missed the last deadline to invest. I'm no experienced investor and neither a paid member so I'm not up to date. But based on the contacts I had, I can't but second TwiseWise's feeling & thoughts about it. I won't make too much fuss about it here... as they can miss any unwanted attention. But don't count them out.

I must confess that's just gut feeling and deduction/speculation... but imho there might well be no link between both either...

About Gins
They were not financially strong as alike pips and the regulatories took no time for them to give explanation and they just grabbed Tan .,
Anyhow the forum is working as usual and Hope september provides a light on as with them no pressures are given just they are warned to keep everything private if they do with ., but their problem is quite different to that of pips so no comparision.
Tan has been taken into purview of cad just with one of his former programs and the complaint made a fuzz out of it and investigation went whether the funds were spent of that former firm.
They agitate USA for the hampering done by cad for a few months ., the site is able to be seen but cannot login into to view the money.,
But as their accounts are freezed , the last one is the funds will be released within a shorter span., but I hope they would be warned not to advertise this concept public so that banking is not worst affected b'coz of these private clubs.
singapore is more harsh in banking that they have potential foreign markets get through with USA., hence they wont want to curb the trades that give them the best identity as universal market in the world.
but u can access the forum., but some part of it is private and needs peter's approval for access.
Gins is not gone ., for the fun we have is the clone got stuck just b'coz they copied pips ..little fun. so as Bryan means copying can be costly .

GINS didn't copy PIPS and they are every bit as good. They will prevail and make necessary adjustments to continue. They specialize in investing rather than other businesses.I'm good with both of them and make no comparisons.Hope they are all successful and can ride out these storms.Cheers!
Aloha! Go PIPS!

Well... I would rather second kdwa3... and I still feel uncomfortable when they're called a p*p* copy(cat) so easily... and to what degree do you mean 'copying' :? ...
But... nair... you seem to speak with that much expertise (again) that I won't start (in advance lost) debate with you. Thanks for sharing your thoughts :).

Hi kdwa3 and Hasse
Hi friends
No matter but opinions are worthwhile giving them ., they do say not a copy cat ., but everything inclusive of the problems were equal in several aspects ., and to mean with clarity the business model is exactly as pips for gins ., and the clone suffered pressures before the pionner begun facing the grind.,
The business model of pips is unique when compared pips is just not a business venture and it has its diversification aspects and too many within a shorter time frame made it uncomfortable to manage the main program.,
but gins with only one venture got into suffocation and its directors are fed with cad within a short time-frame ., beyond the techniques of business is the clone of pips ., I certainly assure that ., I CAN'T DESCRIBE MUCH ., SAYING THE SAME THING OVER MAKES ME irritating .nothing inclusive of the site designing and ad flow were exact as pips and they will change the pattern after they got beat-up with the aspects and with hazards Gins became the pioneer .
But I know Gins will survive I am into that too... eigther it followed the trend of pips is not my point ., it too had the same vision as Bryan had ., but they are business men rather than a businessmen with social vision and have social responsibility.individual accumulation of wealth is never my point growth of universalism wherever such concepts prevail and they give some profits too sure I will be there.,
peter is capable of managing the worst outcome with the support of members it's that fine .
