The job of the CBI is the economy only. Giving back wealth, increasing purchasing power and /or increasing employment is the job of the Prime Minister and Parliament. Those types of decisions are political in nature and are dealt with by those that represent the citizens. The health of the economy is the is the concern of the CBI. When the economy becomes healthy in time everything else tends to follow suit. No matter what the GoI does, if the inflation rate is exceedingly high, it will not be enough. With the current inflation in Iraq, the CBI will have to do more than it has done so far. Raising interest rates and pulling currency off the streets is good but not enough. I agree that the value of the dinar must grow and grow to a much higher level than it is, but the reason to do so is for the economy. Everything good that follows is icing on the cake.

    Translated version of http://www.alsabaah.com/

Member of the House of Jalal Al-Din Al small (Sabah) : What was with Syria was based
The diplomatic effort long outside facades Information Baghdad-Khalid Qattan A small Jalal Al-Din, member of the House of Representatives from the United Iraqi Alliance list that the problems and crises that have beset Iraq not linked to a factor of one, but several factors, some of which is American politics, and another associated with regional, and the third is of course against the ongoing political process by the warring parties to the process. He said in an interview with

(morning) : Terrorism is not strong but we are weak, vulnerable and not our strength, but because we will have been stripped by which maintains the security file, I mean the multi-national forces, pointing out that the Iraqi street, until now, has not learn the nature of democracy, which specializes in benefits offering opinion and the other opinion. The following is the text of the interview : There are no magic solutions * President Talabani's visit to Iran to meet with Iranian officials, and the visit of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to Amman to meet with the American President Bush, Baetkadkm Is that the results of these visits will be reflected positively on the improvement or stabilization of the security conditions in Iraq? In the beginning, I say - are no magic solutions, we have to be patient and await the results of many moves taken by Iraqi leaders to rid the country of multiple problems. In the we diagnose that the problems of Iraq whether they security, political or economic and so on of the problems for Atrtbatt a factor of and one, but by numerous factors, some of the these factors linked American politics and some of which linked upon regional States, and some of which linked of course conditions under way against the political process before warring parties of this process, for that we have witnessed in this period more of a move to more than one direction to solve the outstanding problems, and foremost among which the problems existing with the regional States and the neighboring states of Iraq, including what happened with Syria, that what had been with Syria had been at the diplomatic effort an Iraqi since the away from the spotlight briefing, the form in which crowned after that the visit of the Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Al-Muallim, for Iraq. Now what Traveler mechanism professor Jalal Talabani in Iran etc. Traveler mechanism Eminence, Mr. Abdel-Aziz al-Hakim, to Jordan, and from there to Britain then to America, to a number of other States, the purpose of these visits or of trips to find a mechanism were real cooperation from regional States Taking into account the situation being in Iraq, considering that Iraq if burnt (not God forbid) will will not to burn and unit, but Sehrk everyone, particularly that the problem which tries to the remnants of the Baath Party and Fahd to do it in such a is the problem of the sectarian sedition and this sedition will for Keeping at the Iraqi border, I mean that these can not be Ioaqvoha at certain limits, therefore every effort and follow this trend, and that are safe to some of the danger which to get us the for one reason or another from behind the border. The problem about the resolution (1546) Ptsourkm Are there problems are still outstanding between the Americans and the Iraqi government? - Yes, there is the problem of relations with the Americans, which includes several hot files, and at the top of these files, the file on the resolution 1546 and that there should be a consensus between the Iraqi government and the Americans on the final wording of the resolution 1546. In fact stays associated with this resolution has an essential role in many sabotage security is happening in Iraq now. Even as we succeeded to recover Iraq's security file and file processing all security forces needed, and the file be applied these specifications Iraqi forces and the nature of the requirements of the war against terrorism, I think we will go very much in the fight. Terrorism is not strong, but we are weak; * Is the security forces now are not required readiness to combat terrorism and to curtail or eliminate it? - Terrorism was not strong, "But, we are vulnerable, vulnerable not eliminated by our strength, but rather because we have been stripped of the will of all the whoever is the security file and I mean the the multinational forces, there is the problem of files economic issue between us and between the Americans, and also there is the problem of the nature of repercussions or repercussions that would supposed to obtain after Beats the Democrats, in the elections Alkonckers the American, absolutely necessary for the Iraqi government despite the existence of sober assessment have the of the nature of that happened to hear the American viewpoint of or saying the Americans a, and the Americans we have to share with us the or share in the nature of the resolution adopted on the Iraqi arena after the proclamation of the recommendations of the Commission Baker Hamilton, so there more than one direction to call him these of trips and the tours by leaders and the Iraqi officials to neighboring States and to regional States, and I think it rounds required and necessary, and I wish to those who have this orientation was bad luck on what were pursuing. By all accounts the solution * By your Wherein lies the solution? - Should turn all of us as a single solution to secure, and if we waited for solutions to come from abroad, or can be manufactured just went, I do not believe that this matter will be on the ground, as many of the things were in Iraq gets, it gets even from the hands of the heads of political blocs and the hands of our leaders, and gets the hands of the equation holds. Some States now funded many of the Parties, and many who funded started exploit this funding to build unrivaled Territories, as well as funding comes some quarters through abduction, ie each abductee, released versus thousand dollars namely stupendous amounts of money, as well as funding comes for other quarters through the thefts that happen here and there, and consequently led funding of legitimacy out that many of the gangs to escape the cycle of control, and these cases in which we have seen what happened from a kidnapping for the staff of the Board of circle of missions of the the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, or gangs Street Haifa or gangs area the credit or gangs births of Justice, these operations carried out by gangs all reflecting about the nature of this disturbance. * Baetkadkm Is there a way out of this impasse big or dangerous detour along which says Iraq? - Certainly is a way out but these modest capacity and irresponsible can not achieve something, I mean that the security forces are not allowed to form or another, that the Security Council, for example, if a detained Shiite by the security authorities I am approaching the officer and so, and tell him why arrested, and perhaps will help his release, as well as if, the same thing applies to one of the brothers year will contact another person of his community with the competent authorities for the same purpose, Everyone is responsible for this issue. Of course, the reliability of which is linked to the nature of security services, alas, has won violations and Sadamion income from all sections of the security forces, who are the cause of many of the devastation spoiled life. If the State did not give a real capacity for work, we can not wait for a solution, and this is concerned by all the political blocs and the Americans also are interested in him. The militia is not a solution * Some believe that the militia is part of the solution, even by limited for the protection of their units there. What is your response? - Militias is not a solution, in this way, will help to build the militia, and not the contrary, the manner in which these matters would assist the people to bear arms. When the state does not trust what will be the solution, and I will carry a weapon Slahk even defend myself, and without these pretexts to remove from the minds of citizens, we can not only to see that disarmament is spreading, and arms dealers from the bulging bellied grow Based on the Nustalh by naming warlords, and will grow this category of traders and the result will be evil in all people. Am I the equation say that the state even though they may be in some organs corrupt, but there remains unjust it is lower than the injustice of the armed militias if Tsidt these militias in the Iraqi arena, because the unjust it will be distributed to all people and to all classes, either the State may remedy category, or a certain category, or special category, but it can not be distributed injustice to everyone militias can do so, I have already Wright, the Lebanese war and looked at all the details, and I experienced a lot of problems and I know exactly what do these words and this war.

Apparently the Iraqi dinar wasn't so overvalued when we went in like the so called experts want us to believe. If the Iraqi dinar was actually close to it's worth after years of sanctions and abuse by Saddam, then it's possible for it to be worth pre-Saddam levels now especially when you throw in debt relief. It's my option if I want to believe that the impossible can happen just as much as your option that it can't. If I was you, I would sell my dinar and get out because apparently you have lost faith in this.
Thank you for your cordial reply. Most certainly there is more here than meets the eye, and I among the many here are still hopeful, But you don't need to be an expert to see the disparagy in the numbers and I want to be a realist.

How can a country that produces $94 Billion in products a year, have $14 Trillion dollars of buying power? It would take over 100 years for them to produce $14 trillion dollars worth of goods.

OK, we agree to disagree, but if you want to see how this thing could happen in our favor just look back and find the articles by Paynes1. I think it's called the Marshall Plan for Iraq.

You forget, Iraq OWNS all the Oil in the ground. They have 115 Billion BBL of Proven Reserves. and maybe 1 Trillion BBls of Probable Reserves. The US does not Own the Oil in the Ground in the US. Plus they own 15 Trillion Cu Meters of Natural Gas in the Ground in Proven Reserves. China and Russia are screaming for Natural Gas.. Plus they have $14 Billion in Foreign Reserves. Add it all up.. They could back up a PEG at $1 to 1 easily... and maybe $3 with the Backing of the IMF, WB, USA, GB and the rest of the world..

As I remember thise countrys also had agreed on buying oil for their Dinars to be the only way of cashing in their large dinar holdings.

I beg to differ. The USD is stratospherically higher than your quote. In fact it's actually on par with Iraq based on the monetary aggregate. Mind you that CBI figure has not been updated since May of this year and we know at the very least that over a trillion dinar has been removed out of circulation since then. So once this rediculous program rate is abandoned we right now can justify parity and better. If you are going to play a numbers game you can't argue with these figures. I care less what the CIA says. It wouldn't be the first time they mislead someone.
