sorry but that sounds very unlikely to me. the iraqi army would be beyond insane to attempt a coupe with the US military still there. if this new story is real, then it sounds like a cover story to me.

also.. seems like it would be the military that is enforcing the curfew and only civilians who are subject to that curfew.. so not a very effective method to stop a coupe...

thanks for your post! I really don't want to argue about numbers and you all know that I am a yeasayer. But I`m afraid this time Susie has mixed something up. The point is it's not .67 DINAR to the dollar as she said, but .67 dollar to the DINAR if those 3 zeros are removed...

But let's stop it here. Erare humanum est! All these figures are speculation anyway. And if it is so, I'd gladly accept the .67 even if it's not quite what I am hoping for!

clueless, I have to agree. They wouldn't be so stupid as to do it while the US is there. I too believe this is a cover so that the lower denoms can be delivered without threat of being robbed.

The press has been hushed up and they are on curfew...everybody with no interest or knowledge in dinar thinks it is a civil war or coup....bet they are going to be surprised when they find out Iraq just took another step forward in the right direction...actually they probably won't be surprised because it won't mean as much to non-investors or outsiders....Come on we need a reval now
