Dont worry about it. The one thing is that the article you posted is from last month. This recent was from today. Alot can change in a couple of weeks! I still dont think this was a misprint. We just need to find out if the reporter inserted this amount or it was the minister of Labor that clarified it.
Oh believe me...I don't think it is a misprint either.

Dick Cheney did not buy any dinars because HE CAN'T...the President and VP of the USA must have all of their investments in blind trusts because of the horrific potential for conflict of interest!! If Dick does have any dinars, he most certainly does not know it yet and will not for another 2 years. It was a crock.

Why do you think that Bush Created the Investment Law for the US to be able to Invest in IRAQ? Including their Currency.

You know the one odd thing about that 1st article I posted?

A source in the Ministry of Finance stated that Mr. Jabr Al-Zubaidi declared, during his meeting with the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Mahmmoud Al-Sheikh Radi, the decision of his ministry to specify one billion dollars (that is, one trillion and 500 billion iraqi dinar to help the unemployed set up small projects for themselves to provide a decent living for their families. He said: work of this project will start with the beginning of next year.

The dinar wasn't valued at 1500 dinar at that time!

The second article I believe was referring to the same article as above but probably truer to the amount which would be 1480 dinar based on the above 1 billion, but still not the rate at that time!

Wasn't there a recent article referring to the dinar rate being/returning to 1500? Just curious.

    Cheers!

    Interesting,

If we have read right, they want to help 100,000 people getting loan to start a business, and here we have $1B set aside for this, then as I see it, isn't this $660M at the quoted 10K dinar which is $6.600. announced. As in 100,000 X $6,600. = $660B. Just trying to make sense of it myself, so it looks plausable after all figuring administration costs. It is late and I don't have my calculator. (g)

Happy Holiday Season to all, Mike
