LOL, welcome to RC. Woot is by a poster by the name ShotGunSusie. It's her happiness signature call. A post followed by a Woot is a real good thing. Your going to see many more in the next week or so I'll bet.

I don't know if this will make any difference to anyone,a friend of mine
told me last night that the rv will have to be done on the 15th of Dec. at
the latest,because the Iraqi's will be on their version of a Christmas holiday
starting around the 16th of Dec. Can Anyone verify this???
From what I understand everything has to be done before the end of the
year according to their laws.When I can get more info I will post it asap.As we probably all know the Iraqis are notoriously bad procrastinators and will
probably wait till the last minute possible...............

It might except for the assumption that they are reducing the money supply and perhaps retiring/removing a large amount that is now in circulation. Link? Don't have one. Your assumption r/v = double what it is now ($1 = 1625 ird) same place my assumption is. Let's see what happens in the next few days/weeks etc. Your number doesn't even come close to line up with what the news has been reporting lately. Also none of the stated objections of controling inflation, raising the value of the Iraqi dinar to where it was before or at least equal to the surrounding countries fits with your stated number or logic.

Thanks for the rumor. Seems like many are pointing towards mid december as being the possible reval while others are shooting for the end of december on into early next year. I sure hope one of these pan out to be fact because I am ready to party with all you good folks here on rolclub at the reval party...or should i make that plural being parties. Always wanted to know how it felt to rub elbows with Millionaires.

I agree with you about the advertising trying to build confidence of the Iraqi dinar as well as removing dinars fron circulation. However at this point they are doing the Iraqi people absolutley no good on increasing thier purchasing power of the Dinar. If you think about most speculators have paid $750 or more for thier dinar. I think that is where the CBI gets the fiqure of 1340 by the end of the year because it does no harm to appreciate the currency to level because most speculators will not cash in for less than what they paid for it. With the Bid and ask spread between buying and selling the IQD they could appreciate the currency more than the 1340 and not give the speculators the motive to cash in and help the Iraqs people.

Halt decline of the dollar against Iraqi dinar after being purchased by the Central Bank in the auction, which was opened by the Central today and attended by seven Iraqi banks.

The Iraqi Central said in a statement that the main sale price today landed with 1430 and the purchase price was1428 dinars to the dollar.

The Iraqi Central Bank sold today, the amount of six million and 500 thousand dollars and bought one million and 930 thousand dollars.

The statement declared that the sold amount as remittances to abroad was six million and 500 thousand dollars, which reveals the reluctance of local market for the purchase of the dollar and the sufficiency of banks to buy it for the purpose of transfer, explaining that the cash sale price today is 1441 dinars per dollar.

The Bank has adopted a new monetary policy in an attempt to improve the rate of the dinar against the dollar, according to a program prepared by the Ministry of Planning, in conjunction with the Iraqi Central for the purpose of eliminating inflation rates in the local market.

Thanks for your post but I don't think Iraq has a set date by when it needs to have a RV done. The same reasoning was used before Ramadan and that it would have to be done before their holiday but nothing materialised. With Iraq, nothing is set in stone and patience is the key.
