COPENHAGEN, Nov 18 (Reuters) - Denmark is open to moving its 470 soldiers from southern Iraq to Baghdad if the United States requests it, the country's foreign minister said on Saturday.
"The Americans are in Baghdad, and we work together with the English," Danish Foreign Minister Per Stig Moller said in an interview broadcast on DR2 television.
"We will coordinate with the English in case there is a request (from the Americans), we cannot take a position now."
Facing an upsurge in sectarian violence, U.S. troops working with Iraqi security forces have s far failed to make much impression on the daily bloodshed in the capital.
Moller said he expected U.S. plans for the deployment of foreign troops in Iraq to become clearer when a report being prepared by the bipartisan Iraq Study Group is released.
The group, co-chaired by former U.S. Secretary of State James Baker, is charged with coming up with recommendations on how to bring peace to Iraq. It is expected to present its final report to President George W. Bush and Congress next month.
A spokesman for the Danish Army said that for the moment the Danish contingent in Iraq, which is under British command, is moving ahead with previously announced plans to relocate to Basra airport in February.
"There are no plans for what to do after that," he said. "It's up to the government to decide."
Five Danish soldiers have died in action in Iraq since the start of the U.S.-led occupation in 2003.

they reported they had attained full debt relief. that means countries have promised. what they are in the process of doing now is makin/signing deals, bargaining for more than 80% debt relief, etc. looks like they are close. im sure they are waiting on the sba review on the 11/12 to see what they say before they finally break down and unveil it.

Here's my 2 cents...or dinars which ever is less....
everyone " over there "....needs to play nice in the sandbox....no pun intented....
and I think they will....talks have started to that effect with Iran, Syria, and Iraq...
I hate to say it....but the biggest objection seems to be that the US has soldiers over their....but that a lot of bull.....them other Arab nations dont really want a " democracy " to take hold in the sand box...lots of shieks would have to share the dirty oil money with commoners.....think about it
I think things will calm down once we leave.....and our investment should go up....
personally myself one of the " great white satans "...would love to cash in on some of that " dirty " oil money....thank you very much...
support our boys in the service, and pray they all make it home...even if you dont agree with us being there.....pray for the boys that are....their ' Our boys ".....and doing a dirty job...
