Iraq's Ambassador to Japan to visit a company for auto industry

The ambassador of Iraq in Japan Ghanim Alwan Department as one of the biggest car manufacturers in Japan.
The Ambassador met with company officials during the visit and discussed with them the cooperation between Iraq and the company especially in light of the distinguished relations between the two sides
Ambassador urged company officials to seriously consider returning to the Iraqi market because of the size and urge them to set up a factory for the company's products to serve Iraq and the whole region.
And through officials in the company of happiness visit and understanding importance of the Iraqi market promising arena and continuing communication among the Iraqi market and the company.
On the other hand, Japan intends to extend a loan to Iraq at a value of 20199 million yen for the development of engineering services in the Basra Refinery project and the rehabilitation fertilizer plant in Khor Al-Zubair.
This was announced by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, said that, despite the withdrawal of his forces from Iraq, Japan will continue to support efforts to rebuild Iraq.
In the same context, he said the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Japanese Mr. Akira Amari after his meeting with Iraqi Oil Minister Dr. Hussein Shahrastani said that "Iraq is an indispensable partner for Japan because it is one of the sources of energy."
The ministers confirmed in a joint statement that the deepening of bilateral cooperation in these projects would help to strengthen relations between the two countries and to provide for the needs of Japan's energy.

The President as Commander in Chief of our armed forces dictates where those troops will go and where they will stay. The problems that the Democrats can cause (and they will cause them) will be in the areas of budgets and investigations. They can make it very difficult to get funding for our troops' activities in Iraq by holding up appropriations in Congress and/or attaching funding for their own failed programs to spending bills. This forces the President to either veto the whole bill, denying funding to our continued actions in Iraq, or to sign off on it thus allowing the Dems the "pork" they want. Much like the U.S. troops didn't get pulled out of Serbia/Kosovo when Mr. Bush became president, the troops won't get pulled out of Iraq just because the House and Senate have changed dominating parties. The stakes are too great and regardless of what the Dems were preaching while campaigning, they will not do anything to make things in Iraq fail. It would be political suicide for them to repeat what they did back in the days of Vietnam. They do things to hurt our troops and they'll be right back out on their asses come 2008. Just my take from observing things on this end.

I would expect that they start issuing the 10K grant to the poorest and displaced and over a 3-month period of time work their way up the ladder with priority being those most in need....

The Ministry of Finance announced that it is, in coordination with the Ministry of Planning and Development Cooperation of the follow-up loans and grants provided by the financial institutions and international banking for Iraqi ministries concerned. A source in the Ministry of Finance that the ministry is following through the Iraqi Development Fund foreign loans previously provided by the ministry to developing countries and research in the mechanisms of recovery from these States as well as gains for Iraq, held by the joint companies in the past period. The benefits of these companies to the Iraqi authorities concerned. On the other hand, emphasized that the financial rate of increase in the salaries of state employees somewhere between 100 - 150 one thousand dinars, which it is hoped implementation early next year and that will include the minimum grades.

I am absolutely ecstatic.....I believe this is it....I would expect to see the CBI change numbers before the banks open, if that is the case we should see something this evening....I would guess. By the mix of the posts today... this is going to be a roller coaster weekend...

I would like to say in reference to my visit to B of A on Thurs.. I had mentioned I would try and get verification of what the branch manager said regarding it being yes / no all week and if it was going to be Yes then they would receive a fax on Mon. morning...
Well yesterday I phoned and asked for the Branch manager ... took most the day to be able to get her... I had Franny on the phone (3 wayed) in but on mute.. When the manager came on line.. I began asking her questions regarding the CD's they offer... and lead into reminding her that I had dropped in the day before and she remembered our conversation. I was able to get her to confirm what she had told me.. and that they still did not know but were waiting for Mon. to see IF they would get confirmation on being able to exchange the dinar for customers. My purpose is to only establish that something has been going on behind the bank scenes even tho most banks and employees are unaware of it... I want to clarify she did not say Mon. 13
was a date that they would be exchanging for sure...ONLY that hopefully they would KNOW by Mon.. .. ez :)
