Thumbs up A Date For The Vote On The Amendments To Constitution

    From Luna's Post....

The amendment to the Constitution : all factions wanted to broaden the powers of the president

    03/06/07

Within the continuous meetings of the amendment of the constitution before the

date of submission of its final report to the House on the 15th of this month,

the head of the Kurdistan Alliance bloc in Parliament d. Fouad Massoum that the proposal to hold a meeting of heads bloc, political leaders and heads of the major political parties will decide on the controversial points is that article 140 of the situation in Kirkuk and the sharing of oil wealth and water.

    THERE IT IS...
The actual date (17 June 07*) for passage of
    HCL,
    Sunni Civil Rights,
    140/142
    & Now,
Increasing the powers of the president
    - 50 amendments in all.

    REMEMBER LAST MONTH
    WHEN THE
    CONSTITUTIONAL COMMITTEE
    WAS TO REPORT?

    ALL THE VOTES (50 amendments)
WERE TO BE ALL AT ONE TIME
    WASN'T THAT WHAT THEY SAID?....
    SO,
JUST AS THEY SAID IT WOULD BE
    (LAST MONTH)
AN UP OR DOWN VOTE ON
    THE WHOLE PACKAGE...
    17 June 2007
    (SPECIAL SESSIONON THE 15th? *
    - First Reading LIKELY on 17 June 2007)

All along the President and the PM said that they had the votes and by packaging them all as one (with an up or down) vote on the entire package should insure it's passage....

There you have it all...Well within the 20 Days that the PM talked about and the deadline of 30 June that the White House gave them the other day.

    THERE IT IS!

    * As the 15th is Friday we might not see a vote till the 17th of June.

IF they don't start fussing at the last moment and IF they can get together long enough to vote a majority and IF it passes I believe that we may see our RV.

    After the 15th.....
Lets see FIL passed and enacted (check) HCL passed and enacted (Check) Artical 140 Passed and enacted (Check) ISX open to foriegn investors (Check)
YESSSSSSSS It will be RV Time. Getting closer and closer. So close I may start my own rumor of a pending RV the 24th of this month.................................. (Just Kidding)

It is looking really good at the mo but we still don't have confirmation that the HCL has been approved and passed nor Article 140. Still awaiting for ISX to actually open but I assume that hinges on the RV so as not to be bought up at bargain basement prices. Hopefully soon they can get their act together. Heres Hoping everyone.

    thanks for that summary -west.
Habakkuk 2:2-3 Then the LORD answered me and said: “ Write the vision And make it plain on tablets,
That he may run who reads it. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.

Thanks Fred. Agreed, it has been an exciting few weeks with various announcements of their willingness to complete various objectives etc, however, from past performances, the GOI seem to be good at postponing deadlines at will - in fact we have seen them do this time and time again. I'm optimistic that this month alone will give us something to chew on (here's hoping its a large slice of RV pie).

I have NEVER...EVER SEEN SO MUCH ACTIVITY (IN SO LITTLE TIME) GETTING DONE.

THE 17th will be the proof

If they can pull this off, then at least this time they will be well deserving of their upcoming vacation.......... but not before an RV announcement. Thanks mate

Admire your optimism fredgwest but I wouldn't hold my breath on Iraq meeting or sticking to deadlines. They are notorious for treating governance with absolute contempt.

What's on the 17th by the way? Your birthday perhaps?!
