Thread: Watch it from the start - MY FAPturbo Account

I'll be anxiously watching your results and your thoughts. I also purchased this and have been running it about 10 days now on demo but no trades. I must have something set wrong. From your experience where did you find the correct info to get it trading.

Probably your Max spread is too low, I had to rise it from 5 (default) to 7 to have trades in EURCHF, Dont do that with EURGBP!!

When it is connected with the demo server, you can see that in the chart view at the top RH corner of the chart.. Current spread is the spread at that moment, and below that is shows the Max Spread.. If the max spread is lower then the current it will not trade.

Ok Today it was another bad day!! I did some manual trades again and went pretty well when all of a sudden my connection with the server went heywire!.. I tried to change a stoploss, and when clicking OK it says Please wait for about 20 seconds, and the message Invalid Account!!.. resetting MT4 or even the whole computer did not help, log in again and again, no success...

In the end I ended with some guy on the phone from FXDD, and he did a reset of my password, and now everything is OK again...Before that I had someone from trading desk who closed my open trades.. pffew! But before I got there time went on, and I had open trades all the time.. Luckely it did not really messed up my balance but ended in loss of about 10 dollars

Another thing that really p**** me off is that Forexhoster isnt working smoothly.

Today I finally received my login and password, and started working on the setup..

Installing the connector and opening it and then opening metatrader seems to work properly however I have to reconnect sometimes to get able to type and to click on buttons or open any menu's.. well that is something related to be working remotely I think.. I can live with that.. BUT, I cant get the FAPTurbo EA in the MT4 ********* panel. I did upload teh ex4 files as per the videoinstructions, but when restarting metatrader I do not see any FAPturbo EA. I sent a support request to FXH, let see what they can do about it.

I have FAPT do the trades now on my PC, allready one winner, so that is gooood!

I hope for a profittable night today and tomorrow, otherwise my start is really a bad one!

I found the instruction videos on the member website of FAPTurbo very usefull, there are allso basic explanations of what the settings mean.. for more in depth info, download the instruction guide, and frequently visit the forum of FAPturbo, lots of info there as well..

How can you justify that?

Justify what? Please be a little more specific :-) Or do you mean "Adjust" (the max spread).. Ok..

You have FAPTurbo on the charts, right.. If you look at the chart window upper right hand corner, beside the word Fapturbo37 there is a smiley face.. click on that

Tab Inputs
scroll down till you see Scalper_MaxSpread 5

Double click on the number 5, and type a value just above the current max spread (example: EURCHF with FXDD has 6, then set MaxSpread to 7) Enter to save, close the window.. That's it. Check on the right hand corner if the max spread is OK now.. If max spread and current spread are equal that is also OK, then it will also trade

I hope this has helped... But at the other hand, you could have known this by reading the FAPturbo user guide and read some posts on the forum.. That is also how I have found out.

I have opened a demo account with Alpari and I am intending to close my FXDD one, once it has won my initial deposit back, plus a little more to cover expenses

I have compared a few other accounts that started around the same date as mine, with small accounts as well. The Alpari ones are all in the positive side quite a bit where I have lost money (even if you remove the manual trades).. Within 10 minutes the Alpari demo placed a trade and won $47 (start balance $5000), FXDD missed that trade.

Well, at least no losses yet today, we will see if it stays this way

Past week report,

It's nice to see the difference between Alpari and FXDD, the graphs of Alpari move quicker and show larger peaks and valleys.. which is a good thing because this means larger potential for bigger wins (but also bigger losses). After that one trade I mentioned in my previous post, Alpari did not had another trades, but FXDD had, and they were all small winners.

After my manual adventures, and the last changes of my LRR settings, I can conclude that Fapturbo really does a better job then me.. :-) When counting the Fapturbo trades only.. there would not have been a small profit of $1.62, now I have lost -$11,26 the past week. For next week I wont change anything in the FAPTurbo setting.. and STOP manual trading :), I will leave MT4 off on monday (easter holiday)

I have done some more backtesting and I must admit that the previous backtesting must have had some error in it, because with LRR at 25 and start balance of $500, all went well and shows that it would have been a little better then with LRR at 5%.. BUT important to remark, when it is below $900-1000 the lot size is at its minimum for the testing.. 0.1.. Because this is not really representative I also did a backtest with a start balance of $5000, and then it looked much better, profit of 160% between April 1, 2008 and April 3 2009

I tried also to backtest on Alpari, to see what the difference is with FXDD, but I could not get the Alpari backtest working OK.. must be something with the activation key... I will keep trying.

OK, that is about it.. Note that Monday is Easter Holliday here, and in many other countries so DO NOT TRADE ON MONDAY APRIL 13! as markets will not be reliable and can stop once it reaches europe and the Amerika's, leaving you with open trades at periods you do not want.

Just a quick note as I found out that a good broker is essential!! With low spreads and good accuracy.

I ran a backtest with ForexMeta (FXDD) and Alpari UK, with the same settings:

EURCHF M15 Scalper
LRR: 25
MaxSpread: 7
everything else default
Start balance $5000
Time frame: April 1, 2008 to April 3, 2009

Result ForexMeta: $13026 (+160%)

Result Alpari UK: $33246 (+568% !!)

As a matter of fact I have a live account with ForexMeta, as this was the advised broker at the time I signed up with FapTurbo (Now it is FXCBS or something).. Alpari is the broker most of the FATurbo members use.

My conclusion is that I will start an Alpari Live account as soon as possible, maybe I will buy a second FAPturbo license for that.. Must check my bank account for that... this is rediculous such a difference!
