Yes, this is my first post. I understand you don't know me, who I am, where I am or what I do and you will not. However, and take this with a grain of salt, I would, personally, take anything you hear about this year being "the Year" lightly. There are several things that must happen before we see any serious movement. There will have to be acceptable security within the country without a dominant US force, ( out of site, out of mind), oil Will have to flow, Iran will have to be negotiated with and accepted as neutral, and the world will have to view Iraq and Iran as productive and non threatening. Until you see serious progress on all these fronts I would refrain from heightened excitement. After that, enthusiasm should escalate, but not before.
Post is not meant to escalate or dampen any expectations. Just be in check with yourself.

I had a chat with a bud of mine today. While he could not comfirm, that the coins had been removed, he said that the coins were not that important to the iraqi people as they did not like using them to begin with. However not knowing this info first hand fom iraqi people I cannot speak for them. What is interesting is that the dinar has gained value,in that I see dealers here in the US offering to buy back dinar for what I paid three or more years ago . So to me its a win/win situation, while I would not sell my dinar now its nice to know that I have not lost money. They say that 2008 will be the year for their economy and I think that with all that is going on over there late march we will see some significant movement. However do not bet the farm on my words. In my posts there will always be optimism but no done deals as it were.

Thanks benzboy,
I guess many of us was hoping for an immediate and major effect upon the dinar when these coins were removed.

Seems that we have been down so many roads lined with news post, rumors that are "for sure", news articles highlighted to peak our feelings, that a lot of folks have just decided to step back and put this thing on cruise control for a bit. I for one think that it is a good idea. I have no doubt that this venture will pay off, but when and how much is something not one of us can possibly answer. I hope that everyone has a most Blessed Day and remember, patience is the key. Warrior

Good post benzboy...I don't think we will see any sigfnificant movement until the HCL is passed as I believe that to be the trigger. The big question looms as when can or will they all agree on the HCL? I don't think so because of too much fear of each cheating one another. Time for another election and this time elect people who can run a government and not because he/she is a Sunni, Shiite or Kurd...JMO
