I'd just like to make a general statement about all this. Economics is an amazingly complicated subject but here's a brief synopsis of money flow between countries as I see it:

    1. Money going out and not coming back (immigrants sending money home) is bad for the source country, good for the target country.

    2. Money going out for imports is bad for the importers, good for the exporters. If the importers also export enough to balance it out, it is still good but, when they don't, it is bad.

    3. Money coming in for investments is also a mixed blessing. The money is good for liquidity but the liability mounts up (value owed on the investments).

    4. Money going out for investment in other countries is good as it creates liability from the other countries to the source country. Also, if these investments are from well to do people in the source country, there will be a steady flow of money coming back in as they realise earnings to pay their bills, etc.

To put it very simply, investing outside your country is good while spending outside your country is bad.

    Default What I Think.....

    2 years ago, I held to the notion that a 3 - 7 cent
    peg would be great.

Then, I began to understand that a 1:1 peg would
    be more likely.

Now, I lean hard towards a peg (reval started months
ago, and is continuing now) of at least what Kuwait's
present 3.20 rate is today...or even the old 3.30 under
So Damn Insane (may his horned ....not horny "virgins"
give him all the attention he deserves! LOL!).

I still believe there is a pre determined major movement
day that has been planned from the beginning. Our
government could create the pressures to make the GOI
do the peg tomorrow.....but they just rattle sabres.(?)

No, ladies and gents, this thing is way too BIG to NOT be
planned down to the minutest detail. Don't lose heart!

    Keep your nerve....and your Dinar!

Don't get discouraged, get MORE...Dinar, that is!

Well you know it didn't RV at $2.38. I don't remember any rumors calling for this rate so it could be Kool-Aid Larry or the crack head. Who was it that called you to say it happened? They should be able to tell you where they heard it.
    Please, somebody shoot the messenger!
